Why You’ll Love This Recipe

  • It’s quick, healthy and versatile- just like my Air Fryer edamame.

  • Air frying frozen green beans makes them nice and tender, but still have that bit of crunch on the outside.

Recipe Ingredients

Bag of frozen green beans with olive oil and seasonings on a marble table.
  • Frozen green beans: You’ll need about two 8 ounce bags of green beans. I like to use Bird’s Eye frozen green beans.
  • Olive oil: To help the seasonings stick to the beans. Extra virgin olive oil is great, but you can also use melted butter if you want to.
  • Seasonings: I kept it simple and just used a dash of garlic powder (you can use fresh garlic too), some salt and pepper. Sometimes, I also add a dash of my homemade poultry seasoning.

See recipe card for quantities.

Variations

  • Change up the flavors by experimenting with the seasonings. I like to add my DIY ranch seasoning or my favorite homemade taco seasoning, but you can try using almost anything you prefer!
  • You can also just drizzle some soy sauce for a bit of umami (like I did with my Air Fryer mushrooms) or squeeze some fresh lemon juice for a citrusy kick.
  • You can also top the air fried beans with a generous sprinkle of Parmesan cheese or even goat’s cheese or blue cheese. If you’re sensitive to dairy, nutritional yeast can work well too!
  • If you can’t have dairy, sprinkle nutritional yeast on your green beans for a cheesy flavor.
  • To lend these air fried frozen green beans an Asian flavor, use sesame oil instead of olive oil to coat them. I did this when I made my Air Fryer snap peas and flavor was incredible!

Serving Ideas & Suggestions

These Air Fryer frozen green beans are super versatile as a side. Pair them with some Air Fryer frozen chicken or Air Fryer orange chicken to make a quick weeknight meal, or team them up with some cheesy Air Fryer pesto salmon or some Air Fryer Nashville hot chicken if you’re looking for a simple side with an elegant meal.

I almost always turn to them whenever I’m making my Air Fryer chicken fried steak or Air Fryer Teriyaki salmon bites.

Recipe Tips & Tricks

  • If you want to make these with thawed green beans, you can rinse them in water until they defrost. Remember to lower the air frying time by a few minutes too!
  • Make sure you don’t overcrowd the Air Fryer basket. The key to getting these green beans to crisp up a bit is to make sure there’s enough room for the hot air to flow through. I did this when I made my Air Fryer cauliflower and Air Fryer zucchini and they both had that beautiful golden brown caramelization.
  • I make this recipe in my Cosori Air Fryer. Depending on your device size and wattages, you may need to adjust the cooking time a little.
  • Shake the Air Fryer basket a couple of times during the cooking time. Doing this will help the beans crisp up nicely.
  • For some extra yumminess, top the green beans with some chopped Air Fryer bacon right before you serve.
