How To Make The Best Spaghetti Squash in the Air Fryer
- Use a sharp knife to carefully cut off the ends of the squash and then cut the spaghetti squash in half, lengthwise.
- Make sure to cut the halves as evenly as possible.
- Scoop out the flesh and seeds with a spoon.
- Place the two halves into the air fryer basket of the air fryer with the flesh side up.
- Drizzle each half with the oil and then sprinkle each half with the seasoning.
- Air fry the spaghetti squash at 360 degrees Fahrenheit/180 degrees Celcius for 20 minutes or until a fork can easily pierce the flesh.
- Once cooked, carefully transfer the cooked squash to a dish and fluff up the flesh of the squash with a fork.
- Top with parmesan cheese and fresh parsley before serving.
NOTE: The size of the squash will determine the cooking time. If using a smaller squash, you may need less cook time. If using a larger squash, you may need to increase the cooking time. All air fryers cook differently. If the flesh of the squash is easily pierced with a fork, you know the squash is done and ready to serve.
Variations
If you want to add some creaminess to your serving, a little bit of cream cheese stirred in is delicious!
A great way to boost the nutrition is to add some chopped onions, chopped bacon, or even some fresh cilantro right on top! (fresh herbs are great, too!)
You can add a little bit of spaghetti or tomato sauce or alfredo sauce to this delicious recipe to make it really taste like spaghetti!
Don't forget that toppings are always great! Just use simple ingredients and change up what you add. Since this is a great low-carb substitution, make sure that you're using low carb toppings, too.
FAQS
Can you eat the seeds from spaghetti squash?
You can! I always take them out from the squash once I halve them, but you can set them aside and save them for later. If you roast them like you would pumpkin seeds, they actually make a really great treat!
What should I eat with Spaghetti squash?
This is up to you and your taste buds! If you eat a low-carb diet, pairing this up with a side salad or even an entree of chicken or pork would be a simple way to make a truly yummy meal.
How do you store spaghetti squash?
Once you've cooked your winter squashes, you need to be sure that they're stored in an airtight container in the fridge. You want to keep them cool during storage.
Can you freeze spaghetti squash?
Absolutely! Freezing leftover air fryer spaghetti squash is a great way to have some for later. The biggest thing to remember is that you want to let the dish cool down completely before adding it to the freezer.
If you store it while it's hot or warm, it will release moisture into the bag, and that can make it soggy. Once you store squash in the freezer, it should stay good for up to 8 months of time!
Have fun making this delicious dinner over and over again. It's the perfect way to have all dente "noodles" without having to worry about the carbs!
