Air fryer chocolate chip cookies are a delicious way to make cookies. Buttery warm cookies are ready in just a few minutes in the air fryer.

Our family loves baked chocolate chip cookies. Which is why I love making our favorite cookies, chocolate chip cookies in the air fryer. If you are craving white chips, you will love Air Fryer Red Velvet Cake Mix Cookies too.
These cookies are done in just a few minutes in the air fryer, so I can make these without the oven heating up my entire kitchen. This recipe makes a chocolate chip cookie that is full of a buttery soft texture, with gooey melted chips.
These cookies are an easy dessert, and are definitely going to be some of the best chocolate chip cookies you will ever have.
What you need to make classic chocolate chip cookies in the air fryer

When we have a craving for cookies, I use my Cosori air fryer. Because I use special parchment paper, pre-cut with holes makes clean up easy. ***Do not use air fryer with just parchment paper by itself. It must be weighted down by the cookie dough, or it can be a fire hazard!***
Besides an air fryer and parchment paper, the ingredients you need to make this chocolate chip cookie recipe, you will need:
- Unsalted butter-softened
- Granulated Sugar
- Brown sugar
- Large Eggs
- Vanilla Extract
- All purpose flour
- Salt
- Baking soda
- Milk Chocolate Chips-white chocolate chips, semi-sweet chocolate chips, chocolate candies, and chopped pecans or walnuts can also be added. We added Reese's Pieces Candies to our Air Fryer Sugar Cookies and they were delicious!
How to Air Fry Cookies
-
In a large bowl, combine the butter, sugar, and brown sugar. Beat together until smooth and creamy.
-
Next, add in the eggs, vanilla, salt, baking soda, and half of the flour. Mix until the dry ingredients have combined with the butter mixture.
-
Add in the remaining flour and mix on medium speed until the cookie dough is thick and creamy. Once the dough is mixed, stir in the chocolate chips, and optional nuts, until they are evenly distributed throughout the dough.
-
Use a small cookie scoop or spoon to shape the dough into balls. Place the dough balls into the air fryer basket on top of the piece of parchment paper. Leave about an inch in between each cookie.
-
Air Fry at 300 degrees F for 7-8 minutes. When cookies are golden brown, let them sit in the air fryer basket for an additional 1 to 2 minutes so they can set.
-
Remove cookies from air fryer and let them continue to cool on a wire rack.
-
Because air fryers are not the same, cooking time can vary depending on your air fryer. For larger cookies, you may need to add a couple of minutes to cook time.

FAQ'S
Because you are using an air fryer, you don't have to make an entire batch of cookies. You can make a small batch of 4-5 cookies on demand. You can also make these cookies without heating the entire kitchen. This recipe make a little over three dozen cookies.
I use the air fry feature, at 300 degrees Fahrenheit, and seven minutes made flawless chocolate chip cookies. Because all air fryers can vary, you can do a test batch on just a few cookies the first time you make chocolate chip cookies in your air fryer.
These homemade cookies are best fresh. But if you have leftovers, store cookies in an airtight container at room temperature. Leftover cookie dough can be stored in airtight container or freezer bag, and frozen for up to three months.

Well I am looking forward to making cookies And bunches of other stuff. Our oven died so we need to learn good and quick. Glad for the tip about not using parchment paper alone. Do you have to poke holes in plain parchment paper??
You can poke holes in plain parchment paper, or you can get a pack of sheets that are already prepared for the air fryer basket. There is a link in the post for those.
Laura
Does the parchment paper need holes?
I have not made these cookies without air fryer parchment paper liners, which already have holes in them. You can just poke holes in your parchment paper if you don't have the specific air fryer paper, and that will work. The holes allow the air to freely circulate. Just be sure you don't have a liner in your basket that is not weighted down with food or it could blow into the fan. Hope that helps.

I have. T-fal air fryer can I make cookies in this one
Yes! You can use any air fryer. Although depending on wattage, cooking times may vary slightly. My Cosori is 1700 watts.

Use a hole punch to make holes

In the process of making these, and the first batch was delicious! I used a smaller scoop to start with but switched to the 1 and 1/2 inch which was perfect. For my air fryer I did 310 degrees for 8 minutes. Froze about half the scooped dough for later. Such an easy treat!
Janis
Hi! Would you recommend using the preheat feature for Cosori before putting the cookies in or it doesn't matter?
Thanks!
Janis
Hi Janis- You can preheat for these cookies. Just keep an eye on them around 5 or 6 minutes and let them sit for a minute before lifting them out of the basket. I found just lifting the parchment paper and letting them continue cooling on the counter was easiest. Enjoy!

Wondering if I can make this dough, shape it and freeze it ready to bake. Has anyone tried this?
Zack
Yes, I freeze my cookie dough all the time.
When I bake them with my air fryer, I put them in directly from the freezer. I cooked them three or four at a time on a sheet foil. It took about 13 minutes at 300 (preheated) for frozen heaping tablespoon sized dough balls.
Don’t preheat with the foil or parchment paper in the air fryer, it has to be weighed down like the author mentioned.
Definitely! NEVER preheat the air fryer with ANYTHING in it.

I have a crux toaster oven a/f. I have a cookie setting (350° at 14 mins). They are good, almost perfect.
