Get ready to amp up the flavors in your favorite dishes with this Air Fryer roasted garlic recipe.

Garlic cloves get golden brown, slightly sweet and smoky in the Air Fryer, and can jazz up anything from salad dressings and guacamole to your classic mashed potatoes and Air Fryer garlic bread. Best of all, it takes only 5 minutes of prep time put this together.

Picture this- a perfectly cooked Air Fryer steak, topped with a pat of butter and some soft air fried roasted garlic- it’s a combination you just won’t be able to get enough of.

Roasted garlic can be put to use in SO many ways- I’ve used it for my Air Fryer garlic knots and even for my Air Fryer garlic butter shrimp recipe, but yes, doing it in the oven can take way too long.
So of course, I HAD to try an air fried version of it too.

  • Heads of garlic: The star of the show- make sure you pick garlic heads that are roughly the same size as each other.

See recipe card for quantities.

Variations

  • You can add herbs like rosemary or thyme in addition to the olive oil to lend some extra flavor to the roasted garlic.

Serving Ideas & Suggestions

Your air fried roasted garlic can be put to use in so many ways. I love to use it as a topping over my Air Fryer loaded baked potato and Air Fryer ribeye steak.

I also love mixing it into some cream cheese and slathering it on my Air Fryer two ingredient dough bagel. Sometimes, I also like to use it to add flavor to my Air Fryer frozen green beans or almost any other veggie side for that matter.

Recipe Tips & Tricks

  • Let garlic cool slightly before removing individual garlic cloves. The best way to remove each clove of garlic is to gently squeeze top of bulb and they will easily slide out of garlic bulb.
  • The size, age and type of garlic you’re using matters, and can affect the cooking time too. It usually takes anywhere between 18-25 minutes for the garlic bulbs to be nice and roasted.
  • Just like when you’re cooking Air Fryer onions or almost anything else, make sure you don’t overcrowd the basket, and leave room for the hot air to flow throughout.
  • To enhance the flavors of the roasted garlic, you can also season the bulbs with some salt and pepper before you air fry them.
