I have made these Air Fryer roasted potatoes a ton of times- each time just as delicious as the last.
All you need is a few simple pantry staples, your trusty Air Fryer and 5 minutes of prep time to make them. They’re a delicious side that you can pair with some Air Fryer honey mustard salmon or even some Air Fryer T bone steak.

Potatoes are a classic side that you can never go wrong with- regardless of what you’re making. I’ve tried making Air Fryer baked potatoes, Air Fryer potato wedges and even some Air Fryer smashed potatoes to serve as a side, and they’ve all turned out perfect.
This time, I had some petite potatoes waiting to be put to use, and I thought of tossing them in some seasonings and air frying them to crisp perfection- giving them that rustic roasted texture- and I’m SO glad I did!

Why You’ll Love This Recipe
- Roasting potatoes in the Air Fryer is quicker than the traditional oven method.
- Just like Air Fryer potato skins, these roasted potatoes are an easy and effortless side dish to pair with everything your roast meats.
- They turn out incredibly crispy on the outside, and are still soft and fluffy on the inside.

Recipe Ingredients

- Petite medley potatoes: Small and colorful, these cook evenly and quickly. Make sure you clean and rinse them before using them for the recipe.
- Seasonings: I used a mix of garlic powder, onion powder, Kosher salt, ground black pepper, some white pepper and smoked paprika. You can also use my homemade BBQ rub or a dash of my poultry seasoning mix for extra depth.
- Olive oil: For that crispy exterior and to ensure the seasonings stick to the potatoes nicely.
See recipe card for quantities.
Variations
- If you don’t want to use all these seasonings, you can simply use a packaged seasoning mix of your choice. I love using Tony Chachere’s Cajun seasoning here!
- For a smoky, savory flavor, you can use some Air Fryer roasted garlic instead of the garlic powder.
How to Make Air Fryer Roasted Potatoes
Start by preheating the Air Fryer to 400°F for 4 minutes.

- Transfer the potatoes to a mixing bowl along with the olive oil and seasonings and toss well to coat.

- Move the seasoned potatoes to the Air Fryer basket, making sure you don’t overcrowd the basket.

- Air fry the potatoes at 400°F for 10 minutes. Shake the basket and continue cooking for an additional 6-10 minutes.
Serving Ideas & Suggestions
These crispy Air Fryer roasted potatoes are great to make and serve as a side with some Air Fryer honey garlic chicken wings or Air Fryer kabobs.
You can also enjoy these as an appetizer or snack on their own or with a nice dip- like my classic cheese sauce. I also like to team them up with other snack foods like Air Fryer jalapeno poppers and my favorite Air Fryer stuffed mini peppers.
Recipe Tips & Tricks
- Start with a preheated Air Fryer. This ensures the potatoes start cooking immediately and get a nice, crispy crust.
- Make sure you thoroughly dry the potatoes after washing them. Removing excess moisture helps them crisp up better in the Air Fryer. I realized this when I made my Air Fryer twice baked potatoes.
- Arrange the potatoes in a single layer with some space between them to allow the hot air to circulate. Crowding can steam the potatoes instead of roasting them, which can make them less crispy.
- To lend these potatoes some cheesy deliciousness, you can top them with some shredded Parmesan cheese during the final few minutes of cooking time. I did this when I made my classic Air Fryer potatoes and they turned out SO good.
- You can also top them with shredded mozzarella or Monterey Jack cheese (like I did when I made my Air Fryer cheesy potatoes) if you like that cheese pull.
- Don’t be afraid to shake the basket a few times during cooking. This helps them brown and crisp evenly on all sides.

Recipe FAQs
Every Air Fryer is different, which means the cooking time can vary slightly. If you have a stronger-powered device, you may need to cut the time a little to ensure you don’t overcook the potatoes. Depending on the device and the kind of potatoes you’re using, it can take anywhere between 16-18 minutes.
You can store leftover roasted potatoes in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3-4 days.
To reheat your leftover roasted potatoes, preheat the Air Fryer to 350°F, and air fry them for 3-4 minutes, or until warm.
If you want to, you can! I like keeping the peel on to lend the potatoes that nice rustic and crispy texture.
