Expert Tips
Remove the cut of meat and allow it to sit at room temperature for 30 minutes before cooking.
If making this recipe for the first time, lessen the cooking time by a minute or two to ensure you don't overcook the steak bites. All air fryers can cook differently and your brand of air fryer could cook things faster. You can always add additional cooking time, but you can't correct an overcooked piece of meat.
FAQs
What cut of steak is best for air frying?
For the best flavor and tender bites, consider using cuts of beef such as tenderloin, sirloin steak, filet, ribeye, and tri-tip.
What additional seasonings can I use for flavor?
Consider using additional seasonings such as white pepper, cayenne pepper, and even red pepper for a little spice. You can also change the flavors by using your favorite premade steak seasoning, marinating in Italian seasoning and dressing, or also marinate with worcestershire sauce, or soy sauce.
Can I add butter to make garlic butter steak bites?
Absolutely! If you want to add butter I have found this method to work the best: Season the steak bites with salt and pepper before air frying. With two minutes left of cooking time, mix the garlic powder with melted butter. Remove the steak bites from the air fryer and toss in the garlic butter mixture. Air fry for an additional 2 minutes, or until steak bites are cooked to your preference. Serve with a side of garlic butter sauce for dipping.
How long do I cook steak bites in the air fryer?
Cook steak bites at 400 degrees Fahrenheit for 10 minutes for a medium-medium well cook. If you're looking for medium-rare, cook for 7-8 minutes. For well done, cook for 10-12 minutes. Since all air fryers cook differently, make sure to cook a small test batch the first time you cook these for more accurate timing in your specific air fryer.
How do I serve Air Fryer Steak Bites?
There are so many options for serving with these easy air fryer steak bites. Here are just a few of my favorites to make a delicious meal:
- serve over seasoned rice
- salad (I'll make a steak salad with my bites!)
- sweet potatoes
- broccoli
- steak fries
- baked potatoes
How to Store
Store leftover Air Fryer Steak Bites in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to three days.
How do I Reheat Leftover Steak Bites
To reheat, place the steak bites back into the preheated air fryer and cook at 400 degrees Fahrenheit for 2-3 minutes, or until heated through.
I hope you enjoy these juicy steak bites as much as my family does! The air fryer is the best way to get dinner on the table fast.
