WHY I LOVE THIS RECIPE
Juicy air fryer chicken is one of the easiest air fryer recipes you can make. The key is to start with raw chicken that is not too thick. Using boneless, skinless chicken breasts, along with simple seasonings, makes this quick meal one of the easiest dinner ideas!
Air fryer boneless chicken is one of my favorite recipes because it makes weekly meal prep easy. Delicious chicken breasts can be used for so many recipes when meal prepping. It is so easy to cut the chicken into pieces and serve in a salad too.
For flavorful chicken breasts, I season my boneless chicken breast with my favorite seasonings that complement the chicken when paired together.
I use a perfect combination of thyme, rosemary, sage, salt, and pepper, for a few of my poultry recipes. Air Fryer Cornish Game Hen and Air Fryer Turkey Breast are other recipes using this seasoning blend that you will LOVE!
- boneless skinless chicken breasts
- olive oil- or avocado oil
- kosher salt
- black pepper
I would also suggest meat thermometer when making meals in the air fryer. This will help safely check the chicken for doneness and will prevent overcooking, keeping chicken moist.
Carefully use a paper towel to pat the chicken dry, and then discard the paper towel. In a small or shallow bowl, combine the spice mixture with the olive oil and then brush the chicken with oil mixture on both sides.
Lightly spray basket with cooking spray. Once each piece of chicken is coated with olive oil and seasonings, place the pieces of chicken in a single layer in the air fryer basket.
Air fry chicken breasts at 380 degrees Fahrenheit for 8-10 minutes on each side. Cook times may vary, depending on the thickness.
To confirm chicken is ready, insert a meat thermometer into the thicken part of the chicken breast. Chicken will done when it has an internal temperature of 165 degrees F. (Be careful to not overcook or you may have tough chicken.)
Allow chicken breasts to sit and rest in the air fryer basket, or on a plate, for an additional 3-5 minutes after air frying.
I cook this juicy chicken breast in a Cosori air fryer oven. Air fryers have different wattages and sizes, so cooking times may vary.
When air frying chicken, there is really no limit to flavors. You can add McCormick seasonings like, a teaspoon onion powder, teaspoon paprika, chili powder, Italian seasoning, Cajun seasoning, garlic powder, or any other favorite spice blend. To keep dinner simple, brush on a little bit of your favorite BBQ sauce.
Slice this flavorful chicken breasts into small pieces and added to a green salad for another easy weeknight dinner.
If you need dinner in a hurry, and forgot to thaw chicken the night before, the air fryer can still do the job! I love easy air fryer recipes and frozen raw chicken breasts in air fryer is one of the best! You can cook this dish easily in less than 30 minutes.
Cooking times will need to be adjusted when using frozen chicken breast. Add 3-5 minutes of cooking times to each side, until the internal temperature reaches 165 degrees F. Just follow the directions we have put together on our Easy Frozen Chicken post.
STORAGE AND REHEATING
You can store cooked chicken in the refrigerator in an airtight storage container or tightly wrapped in plastic wrap for 3-4 days. However, uncooked chicken can be stored in the refrigerator for 1-2 days.
If you want to cook chicken breast and then freeze, it can be stored in the freezer for up three to four months.
To reheat leftover chicken, return to the air fryer and air fry at 380 degrees for 3-6 minutes until center of the chicken is hot.
Most air fryers have a non-stick coating in the basket. Even though the chicken pieces are already lightly oiled, I still spray a small amount of cooking spray on the basket.
