Why You Will Love this Frog Legs Recipe

You'll love this Air Fryer Frog Legs recipe because it's super easy to make, making it perfect for beginner cooks. A pair of frog legs are fun to serve as a snack or meal.

I can usually get frog legs from the meat department at my local supermarket. If you want to be adventurous and try them too, most local stores have them on hand. You can also order some like these frog legs online.

Frog legs are full of protein and good fats, making them ideal for those on a low carb or Keto diet. This great recipe is perfect for those trying frog legs for the first time.

Ingredients

Ingredients needed to make frog legs including seasonings measured out on a white marble table

I make these legs in my Cosori Air Fryer. Besides an air fryer, you will need:

  • Frog Legs
  • Olive Oil
  • All Purpose Flour
  • Baking Powder
  • Paprika
  • Onion Powder
  • Kosher Salt
  • Black Pepper

How to Make Frog Legs in the Air Fryer

  1. Pat the frog legs dry with paper towels. Brush with oil and then place into a gallon-sized resealable plastic bag bag. (You can also use shallow bowl for dipping legs or to dredge in flour mixture.)

  2. Stir together flour, baking powder, paprika, onion powder, salt, and pepper in a small bowl. Once combined, pour the flour mixture into the bag and add legs in flour mixture. Seal bag, and then coat frog legs by tossing until they are covered with the spice mixture. Seasonings mixed into a large bag with frog legs to season

  3. Lightly spray the basket with cooking spray, or brush a light coating of olive oil over the basket to prevent the legs from sticking.

  4. Place floured frog legs in an Air Fryer basket without overlapping or stacking. To get extra crispy air-fried frog legs with the deep fryer flavor, spray tops with cooking spray.uncooked seasoned frog legs in the air fryer basket before being cooked

  5. Working in batches, air fry at 400 degrees F for 10-12 minutes. Flip halfway through the cooking time.

  6. Cooked frog legs are suggested to have 160° degrees internal temperature, and are golden brown, remove from the Air Fryer and serve immediatelyCooked frog legs in the air fryer basket

Tips for Best Results

Sauces: You can pair this recipe with Worcestershire sauce, cocktail sauce, hot sauce, barbecue sauce, spicy ranch, or your favorite dipping sauce.

Seasonings: You can season legs with salt and pepper to taste or drizzle with lemon juice. You can add a variety of seasonings to this recipe, such a seafood seasoning like Old Bay seasoning, garlic powder, cayenne pepper, or any other seasonings you like!

Soaking Frog Legs: Many people soak their frog legs in milk to soften the meat before cooking them. This step is optional as the frog legs will come out tender just by air frying them. However, you can soak your frog legs in milk to enhance the tenderness if you like! All you need to do is pour milk into a large bowl and soak the legs for an hour before seasoning and cooking.

Coatings: Instead of using a flour mixture to coat the frog legs, you can substitute Italian breadcrumbs. Then, mix the bread crumbs with the spices called for in the recipe. You can also use a seasoned cornmeal mixture to coat your frog legs!
