I make this recipe in a Cosori air fryer. Because air fryers are different, cooking times may need to me adjusted by a minute or two.

DIRECTIONS

STEP 1
On a cutting board with a sharp knife carefully slice off the top of the garlic.

STEP 2
Place the fresh garlic head on a piece of aluminum foil.

Garlic bulb with top cut off on a wooden cutting board

STEP 3
Use a pastry brush to coat the entire bulb of garlic with olive oil or drizzle olive oil over bulb and gently roll bulb of garlic in small piece of foil to cover bulb evenly.

STEP 4
Next pull all edges of aluminum foil over garlic head. Sealing all exposed parts of bulb.

STEP 5
Place the foil packets in a single layer, in the air fryer basket, or tray. Roast garlic at 380 degrees F for 20-25 minutes, air fry until garlic softens and is golden brown.

STEP 6
Let garlic cool slightly prior to removing individual garlic cloves. The best way to remove each clove of garlic is to gently squeeze top of bulb and they will easily slide out of garlic bulb.

STORING

If you are going to refrigerate any extra garlic, you can place it in a sandwiched sized storage bag or in a sealed airtight container for up to 3 days. You can also store it on a glass jar with olive oil. If you’re not going to use the garlic right away its best to freeze it and pull out of freezer as needed.

FAQS

Can I make this recipe in the air fryer without foil?

You can! Just drizzle cloves in oil, and then place in the air fryer directly, or in a baking dish or small ramekin. Air fry for 10-15 minutes. They might not get as soft as when wrapped in foil.

Are there health benefits to eating garlic?

Because garlic is a skin purifier, it can help give your skin a youthful glow. It has an enormous number of antioxidants and can help prevent various seasonal illnesses, such as colds and flus. It also may help regulate blood pressure and lower cholesterol.
