Reader comment:I made these ribs today and they came out perfect! It did not dissapoint. The ribs were juicy, tender, quick, and easy.” – Denise

I love to use my air fryer, especially in the summer months.

We typically love to grill out ribs, but with the heat index over 100, no one wants to be outside working over a grill that’s throwing off even MORE heat.

Not only that but who wants to turn the oven on in that heat? Not me!

Enter my favorite household appliance, the Air Fryer! It makes this ribs recipe perfect every single time we make it.

If you’re looking for an awesome summertime recipe that doesn’t require too much time, attention, or heat – we’ve got you covered!

This is a family favorite and easy air fryer recipe you’ll want to make over and over.

Air Fried Country Style Ribs on a white plate and with parsley sprinkled on top before serving.

Ingredients Needed:

  • 10 country style ribs: meaty with a little fat marbling, which makes them juicy and flavorful.
  • Favorite bbq sauce: I love Sweet Baby Rays.
  • Ground black pepper: gives this dish a little spice.
  • Garlic powder: adds a delicious earthy tone.
  • Smoked paprika: warm, rich flavor.

Country Style Ribs in the Air Fryer

Preheat the Air Fryer to 380 degrees Fahrenheit. Prepare the air fryer basket with nonstick cooking spray such as olive oil or avocado oil.

Rinse and pat the ribs until dry. Add all of the seasonings to small bowl and mix well. Rub the seasonings onto the ribs.

Place the country pork ribs into a single layer in the air fryer basket. Cook at 380 degrees Fahrenheit for 20 minutes.

Open the basket and brush the sides and tops of the ribs with your favorite barbecue sauce. Cook for an additional 2 minutes.

Remove the ribs from the air fryer and serve with your favorite side dishes.

TIP: This recipe was made using a Cosori 1700 watt 5.8 qt basket style air fryer. All air fryers can cook differently. It’s always best to test a small batch before cooking the entire meal to decide if our air fryer requires more or less time.

FAQs:

What temperature should the country style ribs be at to be fully cooked?

According to the FDA, pork is cooked thoroughly when the internal temperature has reached 145 degrees Fahrenheit. Use a meat thermometer to check the thickest part of the meat to ensure doneness.

How do I store leftover country style ribs?

If you have leftover country-style ribs, place them into an airtight container and store in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. To reheat ribs, allow the ribs to sit at room temperature for 15 minutes before reheating them in the air fryer at 380 degrees Fahrenheit for 2-3 minutes, or until heated through.

What sides pair well with this dish?

I love to serve this dish with air fryer fried green tomatoes if in season. You can also serve with air fryer hasselback potatoes, air fryer bacon wrapped asparagus, or sliced potatoes in the air fryer.

Note: Never ever use any non stick cooking spray in your air fryer. It will ruin the finish and cause it too peel. I use a little crisco instead. Not ruining another basket with Pam!

Use olive oil spray for air fryer

These are excellent. I have made them twice now. I have an Emeril Lagasse air fryer, and 20 minutes was spot on. The only change I make is to add a 1/2 tsp of salt to the rub mixture.

Never would have thought to make ribs in the air fryer. Great idea and looking forward to trying it

    1. Virlinda Hurst says:

What about an instant pot vortex 10 plus?? This unit has shelves. Thank you

      1. Jen West says:

You can still make these, but you may need to play with the recipe just because you are using a different air fryer. I use the Cosori 5.8qt basket style air fryer and it cooks at 1700 watts. I know the ones with shelves cook faster up top and slower on the bottom, so it would also depend on where you are placing the ribs.

If you want fork tender lower temperature to 250 degrees be it air fryer or over.

If oven use a deep dish as there is a lot of liquid do it this way. Air fryer just used the rack that’s with mine.

Cover with tin foil make wholes in the foil for less liquid and cook for two hours. Pull out drain any juice you don’t want. Place more Rub or BBQ sauce on the pork raise the temperature to 275 bake for another hour if you want we don’t wait we eat them right then and there fork tender.

Also if your any good with a knife you can buy a Pork butt cut it up yourself save a lot of money $0.95 per pound for pork butt vs $1.99 per pound for country style ribs that just been cut from the pork butt.

        Thank you. Great info.

  10. Sarah says:

The ribs were delicious!!! However they took close to an hour rather than 20 minutes. I think this recipe is meant for very thin ribs as opposed to large thick country ribs.

    1. Jen West says:

Here is something you definitely have to take into account – Ex. what sort of Air Fryer are you using? We have a disclaimer that we use a Cosori. If you’re using something else, it’s going to possibly take longer. The ribs I used were the exact ribs you found in the photo and video – so they were not thin, they were a good size. Glad you liked the recipe – just make sure you understand that if you’re using an air fryer from a different manufacturer – it’s going to take either MORE time, or LESS time – which is why we have that disclaimer below every single recipe. 🙂 Each air fryer cooks differently.

      1. Sarah says:

There is no “disclaimer” on this recipe page about what air fryer was used for this specific recipe. Prior to this response a search of the entire page for “Cosori” results in it only being found in your response to Sarah’s comment above.

        1. Jen West says:

It’s actually named as a “TIP” in the post and is located right underneath the written recipe. I have now added it to the NOTES section of the recipe card for it to be easier to find in case you’re just skipping down to the recipe card. Thanks for pointing that out!

        2. Marnie Andersen says:

Yes there certainly is a disclaimer about what air fryer was used – a Cosori 5.8 air fryer. I specifically looked for it and found it, it is a Tip in the longer explanation of the recipe

        3. Mary says:

Sorry Sarah I read that twice, once in the beginning and then again at the end. Clearly says we use this type even with the wattage. All airfriers like ovens cook differently. Even says to cook a sample batch before making the whole meal.

        4. Sherry says:

If you read the whole recipe you will see she did list the kind of air fryer she used.
