EXPERT TIPS
Use fresh green beans, and trim the tips of the green beans right before air frying so they don't dry out.
Add your favorite seasonings before air frying. They are delicious with simple salt and pepper, but you can add in classic favorites like garlic powder, onion powder, or paprika.
Be sure you don't overcrowd the basket. Spread the green beans out so the air can flow, which will prevent uneven cooking.
Toss the green beans or shake the basket at least once or twice. This helps the green beans to cook evenly, and if any are overlapping, it will separate them.
I make this in a Cosori air fryer. Because air fryers can cook differently based on their size and wattages, the first time you make this recipe, check the green beans every couple of minutes, to make sure they don't burn. You may need to adjust the cooking time by a minute or two.
VARIATIONS
If you want to try spicy green beans, add ½ teaspoon of red pepper flakes, chili powder, or cayenne pepper to the seasonings before air frying.
For a stir fry flavor, use sesame oil, and a teaspoon or two of soy sauce before air frying. Then, once they are done, sprinkle with sesame seeds. Combine with beef or chicken for a complete meal.
Cheesy green beans are a delicious side dish, especially with burgers or sandwiches. Sprinkle grated parmesan cheese right after air frying, or add the cheese and then air fry for an additional minute or two, until the cheese crisps on top of the green beans.
Green beans can also be added as a side to Italian dishes when sprinkled with minced garlic or a teaspoon of Italian seasoning. If serving next to pasta, add ½ teaspoon of lemon zest and a drizzle of fresh lemon juice to enhance their flavor.

STORAGE AND REHEATING
Before storing leftover cooked green beans, let them cool to room temperature. Store them in a sealed or airtight container or Ziploc bag, in the fridge for 3 to 4 days.
If you want to freeze leftovers, allow them to cool, and then pat them dry with a paper towel to remove excess moisture. Place them in a freezer bag, and label with the date. For best flavor, use frozen green beans within twelve months.
When you are ready to use the frozen green beans, just throw them in the air fryer basket and air fry at 380 degrees F for 8-10 minutes, until they are heated through.
