WHY I LOVE MAKING THIS RECIPE
I love making frozen corn on the cob in the air fryer because it comes out so juicy and sweet. It makes a fast side dish when I need to have dinner on the table in a hurry, which is why it is perfect for busy weeknights.
The best part about making this corn on the cob, is you don't have to thaw it first! Just pop the frozen corn in the air fryer, and top with a butter sauce, and the tender kernels will just melt in your mouth.
Air-fried corn cob pieces have an amazing texture with a soft crunch. Although it's faster and easier without the hassle of having to boil in a pot of water or make on the grill.
The beauty of air frying turns frozen corn into hot corn, making a perfect side dish for these dinners like these frozen air fryer crispy chicken thighs. You can also serve your corn with a bit of chili and air fryer cornbread for a simple complete meal.
- frozen corn on the cob small ears/halves
- unsalted butter- or olive oil
- kosher salt
- ground black pepper
Optional: Grated parmesan cheese
Preheat the air fryer to 380 degrees F.
While the air fryer is preheating, in a small bowl, combine the melted butter, kosher salt, and ground black pepper, then set the bowl aside.
Once the air fryer is done preheating, lightly spray the basket with olive oil or a non-stick cooking spray of your choice.
STEP 4Place the corn in air fryer basket, in a single layer, and then air fry corn at 380 degrees F for 6-8 minutes.
After the 6-8 minutes, open the air fryer, and carefully brush the melted butter and seasonings on the corn, turning to coat both sides of the corn cobs.
Return basket to the air fryer and continue air frying at 380 degrees F for an additional 3-5 minutes, or until the corn has reached your desired crispness. Remove corn with tongs when done as it will be hot.
Preheat the air fryer when making this frozen corn on the cob. This will help ensure the corn to thaw and cook evenly so it can get that juicy crunch.
If using full size corn on the cob, the cooking time may need to be adjusted by a couple of minutes.
I make this air fryer frozen corn in a Cosori air fryer. Because some air fryers will vary in wattages and sizes, air fryer cooking times may need to be adjusted by a minute or two.
Sprinkle the top of the corn on the cob with grated cheese for an extra cheesy flavor.
Switch up the flavors with a variety of seasonings. Season with a premade spice mix, or use garlic powder, chili powder, or garlic salt. You can also just add a sprinkle of your favorite seasonings.
Simple toppings like sour cream, a quick squeeze of lime juice, or just a pat of butter, are all these delicious corn cobs needs to be an excellent side dish.
Brush re-heated leftover corn on the cob with butter to help it have a little of it's original juiciness.
STORAGE AND REHEATING
If you have leftovers, store them in an airtight container and keep in the refrigerator for 3-4 days. To reheat, place corn in air fryer and reheat for 3-4 minutes. Heat until it is heated through and reaches your desired crispness.
It is safe to use foil in the air fryer as long as it doesn't block the air flow. But I wouldn't use the foil method on frozen corn, just fresh corn.
If you don't want to use butter, you can spray the corn with olive oil or avocado oil. It will still give your roasted corn a crispy texture.
