The air fryer keeps making our lives easier and this frozen corn on the cob is another delicious vegetable made quickly. Sweet ears of corn make a quick side dish for almost any meal, and are incredibly easy to prepare.

I love making frozen corn on the cob in the air fryer because it comes out so juicy and sweet. It makes a fast side dish when I need to have dinner on the table in a hurry, which is why it is perfect for busy weeknights.

The best part about making this corn on the cob, is you don’t have to thaw it first! Just pop the frozen corn in the air fryer, and top with a butter sauce, and the tender kernels will just melt in your mouth. 

Air-fried corn cob pieces have an amazing texture with a soft crunch. Although it’s faster and easier without the hassle of having to boil in a pot of water or make on the grill.

INGREDIENTS

Frozen corn on the cob with salt and pepper shakers and a slab of butter.
  • frozen corn on the cob small ears/halves
  • unsalted butter– or olive oil
  • kosher salt
  • ground black pepper

Optional: Grated parmesan cheese

DIRECTIONS

STEP 1
Preheat the air fryer to 380 degrees F.

STEP 2
While the air fryer is preheating, in a small bowl, combine the melted butter, kosher salt, and ground black pepper, then set the bowl aside.

STEP 3
Once the air fryer is done preheating, lightly spray the basket with olive oil or a non-stick cooking spray of your choice.

STEP 4Place the corn in air fryer basket, in a single layer, and then air fry corn at 380 degrees F for 6-8 minutes.

STEP 5
After the 6-8 minutes, open the air fryer, and carefully brush the melted butter and seasonings on the corn, turning to coat both sides of the corn cobs.

STEP 6
Return basket to the air fryer and continue air frying at 380 degrees F for an additional 3-5 minutes, or until the corn has reached your desired crispness. Remove corn with tongs when done as it will be hot.

EXPERT TIPS

Preheat the air fryer when making this frozen corn on the cob. This will help ensure the corn to thaw and cook evenly so it can get that juicy crunch.

If using full size corn on the cob, the cooking time may need to be adjusted by a couple of minutes.

VARIATIONS

Sprinkle the top of the corn on the cob with grated cheese for an extra cheesy flavor. 

Switch up the flavors with a variety of seasonings. Season with a premade spice mix, or use garlic powder, chili powder, or garlic salt. You can also just add a sprinkle of your favorite seasonings.

Simple toppings like sour cream, a quick squeeze of lime juice, or just a pat of butter, are all these delicious corn cobs needs to be an excellent side dish.

Brush re-heated leftover corn on the cob with butter to help it have a little of it’s original juiciness.

STORAGE AND REHEATING

If you have leftovers, store them in an airtight container and keep in the refrigerator for 3-4 days. To reheat, place corn in air fryer and reheat for 3-4 minutes. Heat until it is heated through and reaches your desired crispness.

FAQS

Can I wrap the corn in aluminum foil before air frying?

It is safe to use foil in the air fryer as long as it doesn’t block the air flow. But I wouldn’t use the foil method on frozen corn, just fresh corn. 

Do I have to use butter with salt?

If you don’t want to use butter, you can spray the corn with olive oil or avocado oil. It will still give your roasted corn a crispy texture.
