Air Fryer Chili Cheese Dogs are one of my favorite things to make during chili season and the colder months. Just grab your favorite chili, hot dogs, cheese, and buns!

These air fryer chili cheese dogs are a delish way to make a classic dish. Not only are they yummy, but they have that perfect light crisp and melted cheese.

Chili cheese dogs are perfect to make when you have leftover chili. It’s a quick and easy meal that’s done in less than 10 minutes.

Ingredients

  • hot dogs. Use your favorite brand of hot dogs. I love to use brisket dogs.
  • hot dog buns. Pick your favorite brand and flavor! White, wheat, potato, etc.
  • cheddar cheese. freshly shredded cheddar cheese is perfect for this dish.
  • chili. Choose your chili. I love using homemade leftover chili, but you can also use your favorite canned chili as well.

How to Make Chili Cheese Dogs in the Air Fryer

Step 1
Place the buns into the air fryer basket in a single layer.

Step 2
Open the buns and scoop a small layer of chili into the bun.

Top the chili with a hot dog.

Top the hot dog with more chili, then top it off with shredded cheddar cheese.

Air fry at 375 degrees Fahrenheit for 8 minutes.

Remove and serve while hot.

They are always amazing and so quick and easy.

Tips

  • I use the Cosori Dual Blaze air fryer for this recipe.
  • This is the perfect dish to make with your favorite leftover homemade chili recipe.
  • When removing these from the air fryer, use a plastic spatula for ease.

Variations

  • hot dogs. Use different types of hot dogs for this dish. I love to use brisket dogs, but you can also use regular hot dogs, or flavored hot dogs that are stuffed with cheese.
  • chili. Any Texan will argue with you about whether or not chili should have beans in it or not. That’s up to you! Use your favorite flavored chili, with or without beans.
  • toppings. Just like a regular hot dog, you can also top your chili cheese dog with toppings. Some of my favorites are diced onions, bell peppers, and jalapeños.

  • storage. Store leftover chili cheese dogs in and airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.
  • reheating. Reheat leftover chili cheese dogs in the air fryer at 350 degrees F for 2-3 minutes, or until cheese is melted and they’re completely heated through.
