INGREDIENTS FOR MAKING CHICKEN BREAST IN THE AIR FRYER
- boneless skinless chicken breasts: Tender and lean- easiest for cutting into smaller pieces.
- 1 tablespoon of olive oil (or avocado oil): this oil helps the seasonings stick to the chicken, while getting the outside of the chicken to turn slightly golden while cooking.
- Paprika: offers an extra smoky flavor.
- Garlic powder: adds garlic flavor without overpowering the taste.
- Onion powder: adds a little bit of onion taste to the chicken, and complements the other spices.
- Kosher salt: just a bit of salt will help enhance the flavor of the chicken.
- Black pepper: just a pinch of ground black pepper will complete the flavor of the seasoning.
I would also suggest meat thermometer when making meals in the air fryer. This will help safely check the chicken for doneness and will prevent overcooking, keeping chicken moist.
HOW TO MAKE JUICY CHICKEN BREAST IN THE AIR FRYER
STEP 1: Preheat the air fryer to 380 degrees F for 3-5 minutes.
STEP 2: While the air fryer is preheating, carefully use paper towels to pat the chicken dry, and then discard the paper towel. In a small bowl, combine the paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Stir the seasonings together.
STEP 3: Lightly brush each piece of chicken with olive oil, on both sides. Then sprinkle seasoning over both sides of each piece and place the chicken in a single layer in the air fryer.
STEP 4: Air fry chicken breasts at 380 degrees Fahrenheit for 8-10 minutes on each side. Cook times may vary, depending on the thickness.
STEP 5: To confirm chicken is ready, insert a meat thermometer into the thicken part of the chicken breast. Chicken will done when it has an internal temperature of 165 degrees F.
TIPS FOR MAKING THE JUICIEST AIR FRYER CHICKEN BREAST
Allow the chicken breasts to sit and rest: let the chicken rest in the air fryer basket, or on a plate, for an additional 3-5 minutes after air frying. This allows the juices to settle in the chicken.
Use an instant read thermometer: Using a thermometer to confirm internal temperature will ensure the chicken is cooked properly. Be careful to not overcook or you may have tough chicken.
I cook this juicy chicken breast in a Cosori air fryer oven. Air fryers have different wattages and sizes, so cooking times may vary.
