Air Fryer Tips and Secrets
Some of the most popular questions that we see are really about troubleshooting. To help you learn more about air frying, we put together a couple of suggestions to follow when you're cooking food:
- Do not over fill your basket. Foods can't cook properly if they are stacked or overlapping.
- For a crispy coating, coat foods with a light coating of olive oil, egg wash, honey, BBQ, Teriyaki, or other sauce.
- Shake or rotate and flip vegetables or meats. If one side is closer to the fan source it may help even cooking with a quick flip halfway through the process.
- When trying a traditional oven recipe in the air fryer, you must lower the temperature and cooking time.
- Be sure to clean the basket after each use. This will help food cook more evenly, and will preserve the life of your air fryer.

You're in the right spot!!
bought the Kalorik 26 quart fryer. saw it in action Thanksgiving day. impressed, found it on sale at Kohl's for 30% off, then got a Black Friday discount online for another 15% off. with free shipping, got it for 119.00. love everything about it but have a tendency of burning fingers. wish there were more recipes out there for these type of air fryers. most are for the basket types so with the Kalorik, you have to do some guessing. worth every penny. haven't used the stove oven since I've buy it.
I bought the Phillips XXL Air Fryer. A lot of recipes call for preheating the air fryer to a certain temp depending on the recipe. Do you know if the Phillips XXL requires preheating?
Hi Maria. I would check with your manufacturer guide, but will say, usually if a recipe requires preheating, it will give the instruction to do so. Hope that helps.
