Equipment

  • 1 Air Fryer

Ingredients

  • 4 pork chops boneless or bone in, ½ inch in thickness
  • 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
  • 1 packet Pork Shake and Bake Seasoning

Ingredients for homemade shake and bake breading mix

  • 1 cup Italian seasoned breadcrumbs
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  • Remove pork chops from packaging and place them on a cutting board. Pat them dry with paper towels.
  • Pour store bought packet mixture or homemade version of breading into a storage resealable bag. Lightly coat pork chops with Dijon mustard on both sides, then place them in the storage bag with breadcrumb mixture.
  • Seal the bag and shake them in the mixture, until they are fully coated. Lightly spray olive oil onto the air fryer basket or line with air fryer perforated parchment sheet.
  • Place pork chops in a single layer in basket, without overlapping. Set your air fryer to 400 degrees F and cook for 8-10 minutes, turning chops halfway through the cooking process. Depending on the thickness cooking time will vary 1-3 minutes. Use a meat thermometer to check the internal temperature of meat is 145 degrees F.

Notes

Place on a baking rack (with olive oil spray) when cooking time is finished if not serving immediately. Because pork will get a soggy crust on the bottom and possibly stick without the olive oil.
Optional flavorings: for an extra kick add hot sauce to the Dijon. Or red pepper flakes, additional teaspoon black pepper or ancho chili powder to either of the breading mixtures.
Optional ingredients: pour a packet of ranch seasoning into coating mix. A few teaspoons paprika, onion powder
Cooking tips: If you do not have Dijon mustard whisk a couple of eggs to make an egg wash. Place pork chops in a rimmed baking sheet or shallow bowl and pour egg mixture over them and cover both sides before placing them in the bag with seasoning mix. Or use a coating of mayonnaise.
