Variations
Use homemade apple pie filling - If you don't have enough filling from a can, you can use homemade filling instead!
Add toppings - A thin layer of caramel sauce on top is a great idea! You can even drizzle maple syrup and teaspoon cinnamon on top as well. If you have a crazy sweet tooth, you'll love this!
How to Serve
You can eat these like they are or add anything you want to the top of the taquitos. Since it tastes like traditional apple pie, it's perfect for the fall season or a great way to make a simple recipe. I love the instant gratification of the very first bite of this great dessert.

FAQs
You really need to have soft tortillas to make these apple taquitos or caramel apple taquitos. The softness helps when you roll the tortilla and does a great job holding in the simple ingredients.
If you want to dice up apples into smaller pieces and use them, granny smith apples would be really good! You can opt for real apples instead of a can of apple pie filling, but the texture is going to be a bit firmer.
Just be sure that you cut the apples into small chunks before adding them to the tortillas. Same-size pieces ensure that they're going to cook faster and evenly so that they might not have as much of a crunch.
You can add apple pie spice, a sugar and cinnamon mixture, or even a little bit of brown sugar as well! If you want to have cinnamon apples, you can easily do that with any of the options.
If you don't want as much of a cinnamon flavor, you can add any type of seasonings and spices that you want.

Hi, if you make this with strawberry or blueberry filling. What can you coat outside with instead of the cinnamon?
Thank
Chris
Hi Chris. Both of those fillings sound delicious too! I've made these with cherry filling and sprinkled powdered sugar on the outside instead of cinnamon and sugar. Or you could top with some whipped cream or ice cream? Let me know how they turn out!

These were simple to make and very good. I love that you can make them in the air fryer or oven. I made them as written in the air fryer and they turned out nicely. And they are great warmed through later with vanilla ice cream! I reviewed these on my YouTube channel, The Real Deal Recipe Reviews, where I always try to make recipes as written and give honest reviews. I highly recommend making these, you won't be disappointed!
Thank you so much for your feedback and review! These are one of my favorite snacks. 🙂

Are you using raw tortillas?
They are cooked, not raw.

What if u dnt have a air fryer? Can u bakw them in oven?
Yes! You can bake these in the oven if you don't have an air fryer. Increase the cooking time and the cook time to make sure they are fully cooked. And keep an eye on them 🙂
