Air Fryer Potato Peelings are the perfect way to use leftover potato peels. Not only do they make a crispy snack, but you can add your favorite seasonings to really change up the flavor. It's time to give these tasty crisps a try!
What I love about this simple air fryer recipe is that it's just a few easy steps to make these crunchy potato skin chips. From the first time making them, you're going to love the super-fast way that you can get those crunchy skins!
So many people toss the skins in the trash, but that's a ton of food waste that just isn't necessary! Instead, this is a great way to keep the skins out of the compost bin, and put them into your tummy where they belong!

Variations
Add toppings - Fresh herbs and sour cream are two of my favorite things to add. You can also add bacon bits and shredded cheese to the top of these potato peel chips. If you're a fan of onions, adding diced green onions on top is a great idea, as well! A little bit of toppings can make every bite of this tasty snack totally unique.
Use sweet potatoes - While the air fryer potato peel crisps may not get quite as crispy as they would if using a medium Russet potato, this is a fun new way to get a fun new flavor. The sweet potato peels add a whole new taste!
How to serve
This flavorful snack can be served in so many different ways! Once you've cooked the peel of the potato in the air fryer, you can apply a pinch of salt and some parmesan cheese right on top and enjoy. The flavor of parmesan potato skin chips will have everyone gobbling them up quickly.
You can also add Old Bay seasoning, hot sauce, or even just some ketchup to the top of this air fryer potato crisps recipe.
How to store
Leftover potato peelings mean that you get to reheat and eat the next day! Be sure to let this delicious snack cool down all the way, and then store the leftover potato skins in an airtight container.
Store them in the fridge and eat them within one day for the best flavor and taste. To reheat the potato chips, pop them into the air fryer for a couple of minutes. You may need to spritz a little oil to give them the crunch you want.

Common Questions
Are these spare skins a healthier option than deep-fried french fries?
Since this recipe uses less oil, they're a healthier option! The hot air cooks the Russel potatoes skin so that it has the crunch of being deep fried, without actually being fried.
How do I peel off the potato skins?
The easiest way to get the skins off the potatoes is to use a vegetable peeler. You'll want them to be larger in size, if possible, but if not, you can still cook them up. they'll just be a varying color of golden brown depending on the size.

Instead of a plastc bag I use a sealable bowl big enough to be shakable . That saves you having to throw out the bag. I also gave the potatoes a good scrub first. This recipe looks great. Thanks.

In the article and the recipe card you say: "Add the seasonings to the bottom of the air fryer basket in a single layer."
Shouldn't that say peels rather than seasonings?
Sheila
PS hobby wants to make theses ASAP 😉

Thanks for catching that. We fixed it! And yes, place the peelings in the bottom of the basket.
