Tips

Variations

Use a different type of chicken – While I prefer chicken breasts, you can also use chicken thighs, chicken tenders, and any other cut of chicken that you want.

Add different seasonings – Change the flavor by adding chili powder, a tsp of garlic powder, onion powder, garlic salt, and any other type of herb blend that you want.

How to Serve Air Fryer Oatmeal Crusted Chicken

Healthy recipes like this are easy to serve! You can leave the chicken whole or cut it up into smaller pieces to be like chicken nuggets. I like to add a bit of Italian flavor to the top of chicken with some fresh parsley flakes.

How to Store

Once the chicken has cooked and cooled, you can store it in an airtight container and keep it in the fridge for 3-4 days. You can also add leftovers to freezer bags and save them for later as well.

Typically frozen cooked chicken should stay good in the freezer for 2-3 months.

FAQs

What type of dipping sauce pairs well with this oatmeal chicken recipe?

You can use BBQ sauce as your dipping sauce of choice. You can also use salsa, hot sauce, ketchup, and all the different flavors of mustard.

A fun way to make every bite taste differently is to have a wide variety of dipping sauces to use!

Can I thin the chicken breasts before coating them with ground oat mixture?

You can. If you have a meat mallet, this is an easy way to thin the pieces of chicken so that they will cook quickly.

How many chicken breasts can I cook in the air fryer at once?

To make sure that the chicken is cooked all the way, you need to be sure that you are adding them in a single layer. Don’t stack them or layer them or the chicken won’t crisp up and cook all the way.

Your instructions do not mention what to do with the parmesan cheese. I’m assuming you mix with the oats and flour mixture. correct?

You are right! I add the parmesan cheese after I pulse the oats. I fixed it on the recipe card. Thank you!
