One of the biggest challenges of making frozen fries in the oven or the microwave is that they end up as soggy curly fries.

Ingredients for Air Fryer Curly Fries
- Frozen Curly Fries (22 ounces): Pre-seasoned and cut, frozen curly fries (like the Arby’s brand) are convenient and designed to crisp up beautifully in the air fryer.
How to Cook Air Fryer Curly Fries
STEP 1 – Preheat your Air Fryer to 400°F (200°C). If your air fryer basket tends to stick, spray it lightly with nonstick cooking spray.
STEP 2 – Arrange the frozen curly fries in a single layer at the bottom of the air fryer basket. Avoid overcrowding to ensure even cooking and crispiness.
STEP 3 – Cook the curly fries at 400°F (200°C) for 10 minutes. Toss the fries halfway through the cooking time to promote even browning and crispiness.
STEP 4 – Once the fries are golden brown and crispy, remove them from the air fryer and serve immediately with your favorite dipping sauces.
Note: This recipe was made with a basket style 5.8 qt Cosori air fryer. If you’re using a different brand of air fryer model (ie. one with racks) you may need to adjust and decrease the cooking time by a minute or two. Other brands may require you to add an additional minute or two. It’s always best to make a small test batch of a recipe if you’re using a different brand of air fryer.
Tips for Making the Best Air Fryer Curly Fries
- Even Layer: Spread the fries in a single, even layer with little to no overlap to ensure they all cook uniformly.
- Shaking is Key: Toss or shake the fries halfway through cooking. This step is crucial for achieving an all-around crisp.
- Serving: Curly fries are best enjoyed fresh from the air fryer while they’re still hot and crispy.
Air Fryer Curly Fries Variations
- Seasoning Options: While frozen curly fries typically come pre-seasoned, feel free to sprinkle some extra spices before cooking. Paprika, garlic powder, or a dash of cayenne pepper can add a nice kick.
- Cheese Fries: After cooking, sprinkle some shredded cheddar cheese over the fries and return them to the air fryer for an additional minute until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
