Air Fryer Chocolate Croissant

These flaky air fryer croissants remind me of baked croissants similar to a French pastry from Paris. You will love this recipe because this air fryer method makes a fast and easy, but fancy breakfast or dessert.

You can also make these warm chocolate croissants to go with your morning coffee instead of running by the local bakery or Starbucks!

FAQs

How can I store chocolate croissants?

This easy breakfast is best eaten within 1-2 hours of being made. You can store these chocolate croissants in an airtight container at room temperature. They are also freezer safe for the unbaked croissants for up to eight weeks until you’re ready to bake them.

What other chocolate sauce can I use for this recipe?

A family favorite of chocolate Nutella and chocolate chips or Hershey’s chocolate bars are perfect fillings! Plus, rich Nutella has a smooth chocolate hazelnut flavor, as well as simple peanut butter, making them perfect pairings for this recipe!

Can I layer the croissants in the Air Fryer?

We recommend only using a single layer for the croissants to cook evenly. If you layer the croissants on top of one another, they won’t become crispy and golden. So, you may have a do a few batches to ensure the croissants have enough room to cook.

Equipment

  • 1 Air Fryer

Ingredients

  • 1 can Crescent Roll Dough
  • 8 mini Chocolate Bars, or 1/2 cup chocolate chips

Instructions

  • Unroll the crescent roll sheet and then divide into triangles.
  • Place one piece of chocolate, or one tablespoon of chocolate chip, at the end of the crescent roll and roll until into a crescent shape.
  • Spray the air fryer basket or baking sheet with non-stick cooking spray or line basket with parchment paper. Place croissants in the prepared basket, leaving a small space between each pastry.
  • Air fry at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for about 5-7 minutes until crescent rolls are golden brown.
  • Carefully remove filled chocolate crescent rolls from the Air Fryer. Sprinkle each puff pastry with powdered sugar, slices of almonds, drizzle with chocolate syrup or frosting glaze.

Notes

  • I make these in my Cosori air fryer. Depending on the size and wattage of the Air Fryer, you may need to add  an additional 1-2 minutes to cook time.
  • Leave enough room between each pastry, allowing room for the roll to puff as it cooks.
  • Do not stack or overlap in the basket. The dough may not cook evenly.
  • You can make 4 or 8 in a batch, depending on what will fit in your basket.
