How to Make Pot Pie in Air Fryer:
-
To make air fryer pot pie, begin by removing the pot pie from it's packaging and cover the pie with aluminum foil, folding the foil over the sides of pie.
-
Place the pot pie in the air fryer basket and air fry at 400 degrees F for 20-25 minutes.
-
Remove the foil, and continue to air fry for an additional 3-5 minutes, until you have golden brown crust.
I make this recipe in my Cosori 5.8 qt. air fryer. Depending on your air fryer, size and wattages, air frying cooking times may need to be adjusted a couple of minutes.
How to save time if making pot pie from scratch
If you want to make small pot pies from scratch, a quicker method is to use basic ingredients. You can use rotisserie chicken from the meat department, or shred leftover chicken breast from dinner and a roux made with mixed vegetables.
You can also use a store bought pie crusts instead of making pie dough from scratch. Air frying times will be about 5-10 minutes less time because it won't be a frozen pie.
FAQ's
You will find an affordable selection and variety of frozen pies in the frozen foods section at your local grocery store. Our favorite is Marie Callender's, but there are several other brands, such as Banquet Pot pies, you can choose from.
Pot pies are the best when fresh out of the air fryer. If you do have leftovers, cover pie with foil or plastic wrap, and chilled in the refrigerator. Reheat at 350 degrees F for 3-5 minutes, until filling is warm.
Because pot pies are filled with cooked vegetables, it can be a complete meal by itself. The portion size is also perfect for individual servings. If you want to add sides, French fries, sweet potatoes, and dinner rolls, are our simple side dish ideas.
