HOW TO MAKE CASSEROLE IN AIR FRYER
Step 1
In a medium saucepan, boil water and prepare the entire 8-ounce package of egg noodles as directed on the package.
Step 2
When noodles have finished cooking, drain the noodles through a colander in your kitchen sink.
Step 3
Pour noodles back into the medium saucepan, add the chicken and broccoli florets and toss them with the noodles until well mixed.
Step 4
Once noodles, chicken, and broccoli are combined, add melted butter, shredded cheese, chicken soup, sour cream, salt and pepper to the mixture. Stir together until all ingredients are well combined.
Step 5
Spray a nonstick cooking spray into your stoneware baking dish, 2-quart ramekin or casserole dish that fits into your air fryer basket.
Step 6
Use a spatula and transfer chicken mixture to your casserole dish filling the entire dish. Make it a smooth nice layer so casserole is presented evenly.
Step 7
Air fry at 350 degrees F for 4-6 minutes, until the cheese is melted. Serve while hot.
Variations
- Optional Additional Toppings: Chopped chives, parsley or green onions. Cracker crumbs-Ritz crackers, tortilla chips or crispy tater tots.
- Substitutions: Use Greek yogurt instead of sour cream. Use Mexican cheese, Colby-jack cheese or any other creamy cheese instead of cheddar. Use cream of mushroom soup instead of cream of chicken.
Tips
- I make this recipe in my Cosori 5.8 qt. air fryer or 6.8 quart air fryer. Depending on your air fryer, size and wattages, cook time may need to be adjusted 1-2 minutes.
Storage and Reheating
- Allow casserole to completely cool prior to storing. Place chicken in an airtight container in your refrigerator for up to 4 days. If freezing, place leftovers in an airtight container for up to 4 months.
- Reheat chicken casserole in a silicone dish in the air fryer at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 2-3 minutes, or until heated through and it's reached an internal temperature of 165° Fahrenheit/74° Celcius.
FAQ's
Any green vegetables or fresh veggies, such as green beans, cauliflower, carrots, asparagus and mushrooms are a few that come to mind. For extra depth of flavor and texture add in grilled peppers and onions or diced poblano or jalapeño peppers for some heat.
Because this casserole is really a complete meal, you don't need to add sides. However, if you want to add sides like Air Fryer Sweet Potatoes, or Air Fryer Dinner Rolls, you can!
