Air Fryer Cherry Pie Bombs are a delicious and easy snack to make in your air fryer. They cook quickly and are a delicious snack for any get-together.

Air Fryer Cherry Pie Bombs have all of the tastes of a homemade cherry pie without all of the work. Making these with canned cherry pie filling and canned biscuit dough gets it done quickly.

Ingredients

This simple recipe only calls for a few ingredients and many times I already have these ingredients on hand so I can make them at the last minute. In just a few minutes you have a sweet treat to share or keep all to yourself.

  • 1 can (8 count) Pillsbury Grand biscuits
  • 1 cup cherry pie filling, with the cherries cut into small pieces
  • cinnamon and sugar
A can of Grands biscuits and a can of cherry pie filling to make cherry pie bombs in the Air Fryer.

Making these Air Fryer Cherry Pie Bombs is so fun to make, I like taking them to the office to share and everyone thinks I spent hours on them. They are gooey and flavorsome. They remind me of the pie that my Mom made when I was a kid but I don't have to do all of the work she did to get this great flavor.

How to make Air Fryer Cherry Bombs

  1. Put the cinnamon and sugar into a bowl. Set aside.
  2. Open the can of biscuits and peel each biscuit into two layers. Using a rolling pin roll each layer into a 4-inch circle, you will end up with 16 circles.
  3. Spoon about a tablespoon of the cherry pie filling into the center of each circle.
  4. Pull the sides together and pinch to seal, then roll them into balls.
  5. Spray your air fryer with a non-stick cooking spray, here are some suggestions of oils to use in your air fryer.
  6. Place the balls into the air fryer basket about 2 inches apart, you may need to make a couple of batches.
  7. Spray the top of the balls with your cooking spray.
  8. Air fry at 350 degrees for 8-9 minutes, until they are golden brown.
  9. Carefully remove the Air Fryer Cherry Pie Bombs from the air fryer, roll in the cinnamon and sugar mixture and serve.
Steps to make Cherry Pie Bombs in the Air Fryer: 1. Separate the biscuit dough into halves. Scoop 1 Tbsp of cherry pie filling in the center of one half, top with second half, and then wrap into a ball. 3. Place cherry pie bombs into the basket of the Air Fryer. 4. Cook cherry pie bombs in Air Fryer before dipping in cinamon and sugar and serving.

FAQs

What kind of canned biscuits should I use?

There is not set kind, just find what you like best. I like to use the Grands size biscuits. You could also make this with the canned pie crust dough.

Can I drizzle with icing?

Absolutely! These would taste great with a cream cheese frosting drizzled across the top.

How much pie filling should I add to the dough?

If you love cherries like me it may be tempting but don't overfill your dough. Just one tablespoon will be enough to get that great flavor without the mess.

Can I stack them on top of each other to cook in the Air Fryer?

These are best cooked one layer at a time, you can cook the second batch while the first is cooling (and being eaten by everyone who smells them).
