Ingredients you need to make Air Fryer Pizookies

I make Homemade Pizookies in my Cosori 5.8 quart air fryer. You will also use a small round pan, like this one that comes with the accessories kit.

A disposable aluminum pie plate, Spring form pan, or small 6-8″ cast iron skillet, can also be used.

Besides an air fryer and pan, to make Pizookie Dough, you will need these basic cookie ingredients:

  • Unsalted Butter
  • Granulated Sugar
  • Brown Sugar Packed
  • Eggs
  • Vanilla Extract
  • All Purpose Flour
  • Kosher Salt
  • Baking Soda
  • Mini or Regular Size Chocolate Chips-for complete chocolate overload, add a small handful of extra chocolate chips, or chunks of chocolate
  • OPTIONAL: Add Mini M and M’s, along with your favorite chopped nuts, or other candies

How to make an Air Fryer Pizookie

  1. In a large bowl, combine the butter, the sugar, and the brown sugar. Use a stand mixer or handheld mixer to beat together until it is smooth and creamy.

  2. Add the eggs, vanilla extract, salt, baking soda, and about half of the flour to the butter mixture to the cookie batter.

  3. Once ingredients are mixed into the batter, add in the remaining all purpose flour. Beat together until it is forms a smooth cookie dough.Steps showing dough being made as ingredients are added and mixed into the dough

  4. Add the semi-sweet chocolate chips. Stir together until they are evenly distributed throughout the dough.

  5. Transfer the Pizookie dough into a pan lined with parchment paper or that you lightly coat with non-stick cooking spray. Gently press the cookie dough into the pan, no more than half inch in thickness. If you want a less gooey cookie, divide the dough in half, lower cooking time by 3-5 minutes, and make two pizookies. 6. Air Fry at 350° Fahrenheit for 16-20 minutes until the pizookie is golden brown and has crispy edges. Remove from air fryer and let cool for a couple minutes. Cooked golden brown pizookie cookie in the air fryer basket

FAQS

What is a Pizookie?

Pizookies are golden brown giant cookies, filled with gooey goodness, that are in the shape of a pizza. First introduced by BJ’s Restaurants. Normally, they are baked in a cast iron skillet or deep dish pizza pans. Pizookies are not your average chocolate chip cookie. It is filled with your favorite cookie mix-ins, and served with toppings, like ice cream and chocolate sauce.

What can I use besides chocolate chips in an air fryer pizookie?

A pizookie is one of the best customizable desserts. Any mix of chips, candies, or nuts can be used.

What toppings go well with Pizookies?

I love using a combination of cookie flavor, and then top with ice cream and a drizzle caramel sauce, or lots of chocolate sauce.

How do I store leftover Pizookies?

Keep covered in an airtight container, or wrapped with plastic wrap or aluminum foil. There is no need to store in the fridge.

  2. This recipe makes a nice family size pizookie. Because this is a giant cookie, the cooking time may take a couple of minutes more than 16-20 minutes, depending on the size and wattage of your air fryer oven.
  3. If cooking a larger pizookie, add 2-3 minutes to cook time. You can also make individual pizookies and top with ice cream of choice.
  4. Check the pizookie at the 6 minute mark during cook time to make sure it is beginning to turn golden brown.
  5. For a more crisp cookie, add 1-2 extra minutes, until center is well cooked.
  6. This tasty treat is perfect for the chocolate lover. Just add a scoop of chocolate ice cream, with a chocolate drizzle of sauce, for a decadent treat.
  7. When chips are unavailable, crumble a chocolate bar for chunky chocolate pieces. Any combinations of chocolate chips and candies are a perfect combination. If you don’t have M and M’s, you can use a whole cup chocolate chips.

What size pan did the recipe use?

    1. Rebecca says:

I used a 7 inch springform pan. If you don’t like your cookie as gooey in the middle, you can half the recipe.

My air fryer isn’t tall enough. It’s a Ninja. What do you suggest?

        1. Rebecca says:

          Hi Sara,
You can divide the recipe and make in a smaller pan that will fit in your air fryer, or use ramekins for individual Pizookies. Just lower the cook time.
