This Air Fryer Fish Tacos Recipe is the perfect taco dinner! You will be in food heaven with these crispy fish tacos, full of flavor in every bite! This quick dinner is topped with an easy three ingredient cream sauce, to make this meal over the top!

Taco recipes are so versatile and easy. So when making this easy dinner, it can easily be changed up using different types of white fish or toppings!
You can also have a variety of flavors for this taco recipe, by using different toppings each time. Or, make this a low carb recipe by skipping the tortillas and just add to lettuce leaves instead. You’ll still get the taco experience, but leaving the tortilla carbs out of the recipe.
INGREDIENTS
- white fish filets– (cod, tilapia, catfish, or mahi mahi) you can use fresh fish or thawed frozen
- garlic powder
- chili powder
- ground cumin
- kosher salt
- panko breadcrumbs
- egg
- 8 small flour tortillas-flour or corn tortillas
Cream Sauce
- ½ cup mayonnaise
- ¼ cup sriracha sauce
- 1 tsp fresh lime juice
Optional Taco Toppings
- 1 cup purple cabbage, shredded
- 1 medium ripe avocado, sliced
- 1 cup cotija cheese crumbled
- cilantro garnish
- sour cream
- salsa
DIRECTIONS
STEP 1
To prepare the air fryer basket, lightly spray with nonstick cooking spray, then set aside.
STEP 2
In a medium shallow bowl, add the garlic powder, chili powder, cumin, salt, and panko breadcrumbs. Stir together until well combined
STEP 3
In another shallow bowl, whisk egg. Dip each piece of fish in the whisked egg, and then into the panko breadcrumb mixture. Be sure to coat both sides well.
STEP 4
Place filets in a single layer in the prepared air fryer basket and air fry at 350 degrees F for 6-7 minutes.
CREAM SAUCE INSTRUCTIONS:
While air frying fish, in a small bowl, stir together the mayonnaise, sriracha, and lime juice. Cover mayonnaise mixture and set aside until tacos are assembled.
Once the fish is done cooking, break or cut fish into desired bite-sized pieces. Place fish pieces in center of tortillas. Layer over fish with other favorite toppings. Drizzle sauce over the tacos before serving.
I make this recipe in my Cosori 6.8 quart air fryer. Depending on your air fryer, size and wattages, cooking time may need to be adjusted 1-2 minutes.
EXPERT TIPS
- I use fresh tilapia fillets for this simple recipe, but you can use frozen fish fillets as well. Add an additional 2-3 minutes to cooking process.
- One of the easiest ways to have a variety of flavors for this taco recipe, is to try different toppings each time.
- Make this a low carb recipe by skipping the tortillas and just add to lettuce leaves instead. You’ll still get the taco experience, but leaving the tortilla carbs out of the recipe.

VARIATIONS
You can use any of your favorite white fish for this fish taco recipe, such as halibut, haddock, mahi mahi, or tilapia. You can also change it up even more and use salmon.
Add your favorite spice mix, like black pepper, paprika, or old bay seasoning, or a homemade taco seasoning.
Break up these air fryer frozen crab cakes for your taco filling. This will be a fast and easy meal!
STORING AND REHEATING
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3-4 days. Store other taco toppings such as avocado slices in separate containers.

Top Tips
I use thinner fish for this recipe. Add a few extra minutes to cooking time if using thicker fish filets. To confirm doneness, use a fork to flake tilapia fish fillet to see if it easily flakes. To confirm proper temperature, use a meat thermometer to confirm doneness. It should be 130-135 degrees F. I use fresh tilapia fillets for this simple recipe, but you can use frozen fish fillets as well. Add an additional 2-3 minutes to cooking process.Nutrition
