WHY THIS RECIPE WORKS
Air fryer frozen onion rings is one of easiest air fryer recipes. I love the crispness the air fryer makes when you throw these frozen onion rings in the air fryer basket. Onion rings are a perfect side dish, appetizer, or snack.
You can eat these cooked onion rings directly from the air fryer, or serve with dips, like ketchup, ranch dressing, barbecue sauce, hot sauce, or honey mustard. No matter what your favorite dipping sauce may be, these crispy onion rings are going to be your favorite!
INGREDIENTS
- Package of Frozen Alexia Onion Rings - I love Alexia frozen onion rings, but you can use any brand like Ore-Ida Gourmet Onion Rings, Red Robin, Nathan's or Trader Joe's. It's your personal preference.
DIRECTIONS
STEP 1
Spray basket with nonstick cooking spray such as an olive oil spray on the basket to help with clean up. Grab your favorite brand of frozen onion rings. Open package and in a single layer, place the onion rings in the air fryer basket.
STEP 2
Air fry at 380 degrees f for 8-10 minutes, flip halfway through air frying. For crispier onion rings, add an additional 1-2 minutes additional time.
STEP 3
Remove from basket with tongs and serve with your favorite sauce.
I make this recipe in my 6.8 quart Cosori air fryer oven. Not all air fryers are the same so air frying time time may need to be adjusted by a minute or two.
VARIATIONS
Make a chicken sandwich or burger topped with these onion rings. We like to use air fryer chicken breast or air fryer hamburger.
EXPERT TIPS
I make these straight from frozen to the air fryer. I didn't preheat the air fryer. If you choose to preheat, it may lower the cooking time by a minute or two.
STORING AND REHEATING
These onion rings usually are best when first air fried. If you do have leftovers, keep them stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator. When you are ready to reheat them, return them to the air fryer and air fry at 380 degrees F for 4-5 minutes until they are crispy.
FAQ's
It doesn't! Pick your favorite brand and they should work. The only thing that might affect the air frying times, is if they have very thick batters.
