WHAT YOU NEED TO MAKE AIR FRYER BROWNIES

To make these brownies, you will need an air fryer with a large enough basket for a 6×6 pan. For this recipe, I use my Cosori air fryer. If you have a larger air fryer, you can double the recipe and use a large pan, just adjust the air frying time accordingly.

INGREDIENTS

  • granulated sugar
  • all purpose flour
  • unsweetened cocoa powder
  • baking powder
  • kosher salt
  • unsalted butter melted- melt butter in a microwave safe bowl for thirty seconds

EXPERT TIPS

Preheating the air fryer will help ensure even baking, so don’t skip this step. But be careful when placing the pan inside the heated basket because it will be hot.

When air frying brownies for the first time, watch the brownies towards the end of the air frying time. Depending on your air fryer model, cooking times may be slightly different by a couple of minutes. Check the brownies around 10 minutes and then add two minutes at a time until done.

If you prefer a fudgier center, reduce the air frying time by 1-2 minutes. if you prefer them more cake-like, air fry to the full cook time.

VARIATIONS

Top the brownies with your favorite ice cream or drizzle with chocolate syrup for an elevated dessert.

If you don’t have time to make this homemade brownies recipe, you can use your favorite brownie mix, and make it according to package directions. Don’t fill the pan more than halfway full. If using box brownies, you may need to make an extra batch.

Brownie batter is so easy to get creative with by just adding a few mix-ins to this base recipe. Some of our favorite brownie add-ons include

  • chocolate chips-white chocolate, milk chocolate, semi-sweet, or even flavored chips like peanut butter, cherry, or butterscotch chips.
  • chopped nuts-chopped pecans, almonds, peanuts or walnuts, are all delicious in brownies
  • mini marshmallows
  • chopped up bits of your favorite candies or small candies like M&M’s or Butterfinger Bars
  • candy sprinkles

STORING

This batch makes four small brownies, so we don’t often have leftovers. However, if you do, let your brownies cool then place them in an airtight container. You can keep them at room temperature for a few days. If you need to store them longer, you can refrigerate them for up to a week.

If you aren’t planning on eating them right away, place them in an airtight container or wrap them in plastic wrap and then wrap them in a layer of aluminum foil and freeze them. They should last in the freezer for about three months.

FAQ’s

Can I use a different size pan?

Yes, but you may need to adjust the cooking time accordingly. Smaller pans will result in thicker brownies and may require more time, while larger pans will make thinner brownies and may cook faster, unless you double the recipe. If you overfill the pan, the batter may not be able to cook through, so don’t fill a pan more than half way full.

Can I use margarine instead of butter?

You can use margarine instead of butter, but it contains more water, which can affect the flavor and texture. If you don’t have butter, you can also substitute vegetable oil.

How can I make these brownies gluten-free?

You can make these brownies gluten-free by changing the type of flour you use, like a gluten-free all-purpose flour substitute. Make sure all your other ingredients, like baking powder and vanilla, are also gluten-free.

    1. Rebecca says:

As long as the cake isn’t touching the top of the air fryer and has room under the fan, you should be good.

Your recipe says add the eggs to the flour mixture THEN add the flour. Its quite confusing
