- 2 boneless skinless chicken breasts, sliced into thin cutlets
- olive oil
- panko bread crumbs
- dried bread crumbs
- cayenne pepper
- garlic powder
- onion powder
- ground black pepper
- white pepper

How to Make Crispy Fried Chicken in the Air Fryer
Step 1
Coat both sides of the chicken with an even coating of olive oil.
Step 2
In a rimmed dish, combine the bread crumbs, panko, and seasonings.
Step 3
Coat each piece of chicken with the seasoned bread crumbs. Spray each breaded chicken breast with a light coat of olive oil.
Step 4
Place the chicken breasts into a single layer into the air fryer basket.
Step 5
Air fry chicken at 390 degrees Fahrenheit for 10-12 minutes, flipping the chicken halfway through the cooking time. Use a digital meat thermometer to ensure the chicken has reached an internal temperature of 165 degrees Fahrenheit or 74 degrees C before serving.
Step 6
Carefully remove the chicken from the air fryer and serve immediately.
Tips
- I make this recipe in my Cosori 5.8 qt. air fryer or 6.8 quart air fryer. Depending on your air fryer, size and wattages, cooking time may need to be adjusted 1-2 minutes.
- Use a digital meat thermometer to make sure your chicken is fully cooked and reaches an internal temperature of 165°F/74°C before serving.
- Thinner cuts of meat will cook faster, adjust your time and temperature as needed.
- Spice things up by adding additional seasonings.

How to make Unbreaded Fried Chicken in the Air Fryer

- For extra crispy chicken, soak the chicken in a buttermilk mixture with egg for about 30 minutes to an hour before breading. Add a light coat of flour mixture before dipping it into egg and then seasoned breadcrumbs. Spray with olive oil before air frying.
