You only need a few simple ingredients to make these homemade air fryer turkey burgers.
Ingredients:
- Quality Ground Turkey Meat: Opt for lean ground turkey to keep the burgers healthier, but note that a little bit of fat can help keep the burgers moist and flavorful. Ground turkey is a great source of protein and is considered a leaner alternative to ground beef.
- Garlic Powder: This adds a mild, savory flavor to the burgers without the moisture that fresh garlic would introduce. This is useful when you want to control the moisture content, like in burgers. Garlic powder is also convenient and has a longer shelf life than fresh garlic.
- Salt and Black Pepper: Salt enhances flavor, and black pepper adds a slight heat and pungency.
- Dale's seasoning sauce or Worcestershire Sauce: These sauces add umami, a savory taste that enriches the flavor profile of the meat. Dale's Seasoning Sauce is a complex blend of soy sauce and other seasonings, giving a salty and slightly sweet flavor. Worcestershire sauce, on the other hand, offers a more tangy, slightly spicy flavor due to its ingredients like vinegar, molasses, anchovies, garlic, tamarind extract, and various spices. Either sauce adds depth and richness to turkey burgers.

NOTE: This recipe was made with a 1700 watt basket style 5.8 qt Cosori air fryer. If you're using a different brand of air fryer, you may need to adjust the cooking time and temperature according to the brand you are using. Different air fryers can cook slightly differently at the same air fryer temperatures.
TIPS FOR MAKING THE BEST AIR FRIED TURKEY BURGERS
- Preheat the Air Fryer: Before adding your burgers, make sure to preheat the air fryer to 360°F (180°C). This ensures a consistent cooking temperature throughout, giving you a nice sear on the burgers.
- Don't Overmix: Mix your turkey meat gently with the seasonings. Overmixing can make the burgers tough. Just combine until the ingredients are evenly distributed.
- Keep It Moist: Add a bit of olive oil or a small amount of another wet ingredient like Worcestershire sauce to the turkey mixture. This helps to keep the burgers juicy since turkey is a lean meat.
- Avoid Overcrowding: Place the burgers in a single layer in the air fryer basket with some space between each. This allows the air to circulate freely, ensuring the burgers cook evenly and have a nice outside crust.
