Why You’ll Love This Recipe
- It’s hearty, packed with protein, and perfect for a nice family meal- just like my Air Fryer turkey meatloaf, which packs in 30 grams of protein per serving.
- It’s really easy to make, and customizable too- just like my Air Fryer turkey meatballs.
- It comes together in under 20 minutes, and you don’t even need to turn on your oven or stove!

Recipe Ingredients

- Ground turkey: Opt for lean ground turkey to keep the burgers healthier, but note that a little bit of fat can help keep the burgers moist and flavorful. Ground turkey is a great source of protein and is considered a leaner alternative to ground beef.
- Seasonings: I like to use a simple mix of garlic powder, salt and black pepper here. You can try using some poultry seasoning mix too, if you want to add a deeper flavor to the burger patties.
- Worcestershire sauce: To add some savory, umami depth. You can use Dale’s seasoning sauce too- it is a nice blend of soy sauce and other seasonings, bringing a nice salty and slightly sweet flavor.
See recipe card for quantities.
Variations
- To lend the patties a kick of heat, you can add half a teaspoon of cayenne or red pepper flakes to season them. I like using my homemade BBQ rub sometimes when I want some extra flavor.
- You can also sneak in some veggies like chopped mushrooms, peppers, onions or shredded zucchini to bulk up the meat mixture.
How to Make Air Fryer Turkey Burgers
Preheat the air fryer to 360°F (180°C) for 3 minutes.

- Combine ground turkey, seasonings and the Worcestershire sauce in a bowl.

- Shape the meat mixture into four turkey burger patties, keeping them 1⁄2 inch thick.

- Transfer the turkey patties to the Air Fryer basket in a single layer and cook at 360°F (180°C) for 7 minutes.

- Flip the patties and continue to cook for about 5 minutes or until cooked throughout.
Serving Ideas & Suggestions
Team up the juicy turkey patties with some toasted Brioche or burger buns, fresh lettuce, onion and tomato slices, some cheese and Air Fryer turkey bacon.
And of course, don’t forget some Air Fryer French fries or Air Fryer onion rings on the side. I like serving these with some ketchup or my homemade cheese sauce– or both!
Recipe Tips & Tricks
- Preheat the Air Fryer before you add in the burger patties. This ensures that there is consistent cooking temperature throughout, and you’ll get a nice golden brown sear on the patties. I always do this when I make my Air Fryer Impossible Burgers.
- Avoid overworking the meat- it can make the patties tough. Mix only until everything gets combined.
- You can also add a drizzle of olive oil into the meat mixture to lend it some extra moisture and keep it juicy.
- Arrange the burgers in a single layer in the basket, leaving some space between each patty. This allows the air to circulate freely, ensuring the burgers cook evenly and have a nice outside crust.
- Make sure you use a meat thermometer to check the internal temperature of the patties before you get them out. I do this when I make my Beyond Burger in Air Fryer and almost any other burger too.

Notes
- You may need to adjust the cooking time depending on the kind of Air Fryer you’re using.
- If you are making turkey burgers from a frozen patty, you will want to adjust the cooking time and temperature. For best results, cook the frozen turkey patties at 375 degrees Fahrenheit for 15 minutes, flipping the burgers halfway through the cooking process.
- You can make an indentation in the center of each patty before you air fry it. This will help keep the patties from being puffed up in the middle.
- One of my favorite ways to eat burgers and cut the extra sugar and carbs is by skipping the burger buns and serving the juicy burger on a bed of crisp lettuce. Serve with a side of sweet potato fries!
