This cheesy Texas toast is always a simple side dish that pairs well with your favorite pasta dinner. It’s the perfect addition to any of your favorite Italian dishes, or even if you’re craving a quick snack.

Tips

Frozen Texas Toast – When cooking frozen Texas toast, cook at 350°F (177°C) for 5-6 minutes. Check the toast and add additional time to get the perfect golden brown Texas toast you prefer.

Fresh Texas Toast – When making fresh Texas toast, cook at 350°F (177°C) for 3-5 minutes.

To FLIP or NOT FLIP Texas Toast – Flip the Texas toast halfway through cooking to get even browning if making regular or garlic toast, but do not flip the cheesy versions to keep the cheese intact and gooey.

Recipe FAQs

How do I store leftover Texas toast?

Store leftover Texas toast in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days. To reheat, place into the basket of your air fryer and air fry at 350°F (177°C) for 1-2 minutes, or until heated through.

How do I make homemade Texas toast?

Start with thick slices of bread. Brush the tops of the bread with garlic butter or olive oil, and then top with your favorite cheese such as a mixture of mozzarella cheese, parmesan cheese, and cheddar cheese. Sprinkle a little fresh parsley on top and then air fry the toast at 350°F (177°C) for 3-4 minutes.

How do I make crispier Texas toast?

For extra crunchy Texas toast, air fry slightly longer or increase the temperature to 360-370°F (182-188°C) if making fresh toast. Carefully watch to avoid burning. Air frying frozen Texas toast directly from the freezer often yields a crunchier texture.
