Recipe Ingredients

  • 1 can Pillsbury cinnamon rolls – I used the regular Pillsbury rolls, but you can also use Grands or frozen cinnamon rolls.
  • Cooking spray or parchment paper (optional) – Helps prevent sticking if placing rolls directly on the grate.
  • Pan or cake pan that fits inside your air fryer – or place them directly on the air fryer basket.

Air Fryer Cinnamon Roll Variations

  • Frozen Cinnamon Rolls: Add 3-5 extra minutes and thaw slightly if needed.
  • Grands Cinnamon Rolls: Lower temp a bit and check early to avoid burning.
  • Homemade Cinnamon Rolls: Same cook method — just adjust time depending on roll size.

How to Make Cinnamon Rolls in Air Fryer

Cinnamon rolls placed in a prepared pan and placed into the air fryer basket, ready to air fry.
  1. Preheat your air fryer to 360°F (182°C) for 3-5 minutes. Lightly spray your pan with cooking spray or line with parchment paper. If you don’t have a pan, place the cinnamon rolls directly on the basket grate. Arrange cinnamon rolls in a single layer, leaving a little space between each roll.
Fully cooked cinnamon rolls in the pan, in the basket of the air fryer.
  1. Air fry at 360°F (182°C) for 8 minutes for Pillsbury regular rolls. For Grands or larger rolls, check after 9-10 minutes. Frost while warm for the best gooey topping.

Tips for Perfect Air Fryer Cinnamon Rolls

  • Apply Frosting While Warm: For that gooey melt-in-your-mouth topping.
  • Use Parchment or a Pan: Keeps your air fryer basket clean and prevents sticking.
  • Watch for Burning: Tent with foil if the tops are browning too fast.
  • Don’t Overcrowd: Leave space for air to circulate so the rolls cook evenly.

Recipe FAQs

Why did my cinnamon rolls burn on top but stay raw inside?

Your air fryer may run hot. Lower the temp by 10–20 degrees and cover the rolls loosely with foil to prevent burning while the inside cooks through.

Can you air fry frozen cinnamon rolls?

Yes! Thaw slightly if possible, then cook at 330°F for 12–15 minutes, flipping or rotating if needed for even cooking.

Do I need to preheat the air fryer for cinnamon rolls?

Yes! Preheating for 3–5 minutes helps ensure an even bake and crisp edges.

I love making cinnamon rolls in the air fryer. They are quick, easy, and always delicious!

Instructions

  • Preheat the Air Fryer to 360 degrees Fahrenheit.

  • Place the cinnamon roll dough in the Air Fryer basket, leaving a little space in between each cinnamon roll.

Notes

We cook regular-sized Pillsbury Cinnamon Rolls for 8 minutes in our Air Fryers with perfect results every time.
If you are using a different brand of cinnamon rolls, or smaller cinnamon rolls, we suggest running a test batch first and setting the cook time to 5 minutes.
This will ensure you don’t overcook and allows you to add additional cook time if needed.

Do I preheat first and then put the parchment paper and spray in or do I put the paper and spray in first then preheat?

    1. Rebecca says:

Always preheat first! the parchment paper can blow up into the fan and burn.

I ALWAYS use the air fryer setting. I don’t even use the other settings because this is the setting that I use to make sure I am achieving the right time and temperature. ๐Ÿ™‚ Hope that helps!
