How to make Air Fryer Blueberry Cheesecake Wontons
- In a medium bowl, combine cream cheese, sugar, sour cream, and vanilla. Stir together until well blended and smooth. Add blueberries and gently fold into the cream cheese mixture.
- Lay wonton wrappers flat, and spoon a small amount of the mixture into the center of the wonton.
- Brush the edges of the wonton wrapper with water and then bring sides together to make a small pillow shape square.
- Place filled wontons in a lightly sprayed air fryer basket without stacking or overlapping. Lightly spray wontons with olive oil to help with crispness and color.
- Air fry at 350 degrees F for 6-8 minutes until wontons are golden and crispy.
- Remove from the air fryer basket and sprinkle with a light dusting of powdered sugar.
I make this recipe in my Cosori 5.8 qt. air fryer or 6.8 quart air fryer. Depending on your air fryer, size and wattages, cooking time may need to be adjusted 1-2 minutes.
Variations
Use egg roll wrappers - If you want to change up these dessert wontons, you can easily make blueberry cheesecake egg rolls the exact same way!
Change the filling - While the sweet blueberries are the best, don't forget that you can change the fruit to have cherry pie filling or even make strawberry cheesecake wontons too. Homemade wontons with fruit really are something that the whole family will love.
Add toppings - A little bit of lemon zest, powdered sugar, blueberry sauce, or even caramel sauce would all be perfect to pair with these golden brown treats.
How to serve
If you love the flavor of fresh blueberries, you'll love the ease of this recipe! The air frying makes them cook up in a perfect way that is fast and simple to service.
The best thing is that once they're cooked, you remove them from the air fryer, dust them with some cinnamon sugar or your favorite topping, and enjoy! Any way to eat these wontons with the blueberry mixture is the best way.
How to store
Storing them correctly as leftovers are important. The first thing that you need to do is to let them cool down all the way. Then, store them in a sealed container or an airtight container and keep them in the fridge.
If you want to warm them back up, you can simply put them in a single layer in the air fryer, or place them on a baking sheet and warm them up slowly in the oven.
FAQs
Since you're frying to get this dessert crispy, a little dollop of ice cream right on top is key! Paired with the cheesecake mixture, it's the best way to make your dessert taste like little blueberry pie bites.
It's your recipe - enjoy them whenever you want! I think that they make the perfect dessert, or are great for a delicious breakfast, too. The whole point when you're the chef and creator of sweets and treats in the kitchen is that you get to make them and eat them wherever you want.
You want to put a spoonful of the mixture into the middle of the wonton wrapper. This is the best way to keep it full without having it leak out everywhere during cooking, making a huge mess.
If you have trouble sealing the wonton wrapper, that is your clue that you've added too much filling. Just adjust and correct the rest moving forward with less.
