VARIATIONS

If you love bacon, try making this air fryer bacon wrapped hot dogs. You get an amazing extra crispy hot dog wrapped in bacon.

Slice your hot dog open and sprinkle shredded cheese or a slice of cheese on top of each hot dog while they are hot. The cheese will melt, leaving you a cheesy, gooey hot dog that is just delicious.

Instead of your traditional dipping sauce like ketchup or mustard, try adding hot sauce, barbecue sauce, or a honey mustard sauce to your hot dog. This can enhance the flavor even more!

You can change the flavor of your hot dogs just by switching up your hot dog toppings. The classic options of ketchup, mustard, relish, sauerkraut, and chopped onions are always favorites. However, for a burst of flavor, you can add unique toppings like jalapenos, baked beans, or chopped avocados.

EXPERT TIPS

Be sure to separate the hot dogs if they are frozen together. Also, don’t want to have the hot dogs stacking or overlapping. This will ensure the hot dogs cook evenly.

If using a preheated air fryer, change the air frying time to 7-8 minutes.

Rotate your hot dogs halfway through air frying so both the top and bottoms of the hot dogs are cooked during the air frying process.

When using larger hot dogs, you may need to adjust the air frying time by a minute or two. Additionally, you can use a sharp knife and cut small slits or slices across the tops of the hot dogs before air frying. This will help them cook a little faster.

I use a Cosori air fryer. Depending on the type of air fryer model you use, cook times can vary. The first time you make this recipe, check the hot dogs a minute or two early. They should have an internal temperature of 140 degrees F when done cooking.

STORING AND REHEATING

If you have leftovers, store them in an airtight container and keep in the refrigerator for 3-4 days. To reheat, just return the hot dogs to the air fryer and air fry for 2-4 minutes until heated through.
