Recipe FAQs

Can I use breadcrumbs instead of saltine crackers?

Yes! You can use ⅔ cup of plain or seasoned breadcrumbs as a substitute.

How do I know the meatloaf is done?

Use an instant-read thermometer. According to the FDA, it’s done when it reaches 165°F (74°C) in the center.

Can I make mini meatloaves instead?

Definitely. Divide the mixture into smaller loaves and reduce the cook time to 10–12 minutes before glazing.

Can I prep this ahead of time?

Yes, mix and shape the loaf up to 24 hours ahead and store it covered in the refrigerator.

What sides go well with turkey meatloaf?

Classic sides include mashed potatoes, green beans, roasted carrots, or a side salad.

This is one of my favorite classic, hearty, savory, and healthy meals. I hope you enjoy it as much as my family does.
