Ingredients You Need

Frozen Pizza Rolls: That’s it! It’s so easy to just grab a bag of these frozen rolls, then toss them in the air fryer, and boom! You have a hot, crispy pizza snack! I use Totino’s brand pepperoni pizza rolls, but generic rolls or store brand are just as good!

There are so many choices of rolls, so feel free to experiment with some of the different flavors. Just keep in mind, you may need to adjust the cooking time a bit. If you prefer homemade, try these air fryer pizza crescent rolls instead.

How to Make Pizza Rolls in the Air Fryer

I love crunchy pizza rolls, which is why I love making them in the air fryer. I use a 5.8 Liter Cosori Air Fryer to make most of my favorite recipes. Keep in mind, not all fryers are the same, and cook times may vary. If they aren’t golden and crispy, you can add one or two extra minutes.

Cooked pizza rolls in an air fryer basket.
  1. Cook at 380°F for 6-8 minutes, no preheat needed. Be sure to shake the basket at the 4-minute mark, which is halfway through the cooking process. They should be crispy on both sides, with a golden finish.
  1. Once the pizza rolls are done cooking in the air fryer, remove them and let them cool for a few minutes. Be careful when taking a bite as the pizza sauce is very hot. Serve with extra pizza sauce for dipping, or top with mozzarella cheese.

Recipe Tips

  • Load Up Right. Be sure when you are placing them in the basket, you have the pizza bites in a single layer. This ensures they will be crispy when they finish cooking. Stacking or overcrowding the basket can cause them to cook unevenly.
  • Batch Cooking. My air fryer easily makes 25 pizza rolls at a time. You may be able to cook more or less, depending on the size of your air fryer.
  • Serving. These crispy pizza rolls are great for snacking or for a hungry crowd. I serve with them my favorite sauce for dipping, like pizza sauce. They are good to eat plain or try other sauces such as ranch dressing, salsa, and cheese sauce.
  • Using Parchment, a Liner, or Spray. I cooked my pizza rolls directly in the air fryer basket and they came out perfectly—no sticking or burning. If your basket isn’t nonstick, lightly brush it with olive oil instead of spraying the rolls themselves (cooking spray can affect the flavor). Parchment liners are fine as long as they’re perforated to allow airflow.

Storing and Reheating

I find these so easy to make from frozen, which means I only make what we need. This way, they are always nice and hot and crispy and I don’t need to save leftovers!

  • Refrigerator: If you do have leftover pizza rolls, store them in the refrigerator for up to five days.
  • Freezer: Return the bag of uncooked pizza rolls to the freezer to save for another time.
  • Reheating: Pop your leftovers back in the air fryer for a minute or two, until they are crispy again.

Air Fryer Pizza Rolls Recipe FAQs

How long do you cook pizza rolls in the air fryer?

Frozen pizza rolls cook in the air fryer in about 8 minutes at 380°F, shaking the basket halfway through. If you like them extra crispy, you can bump the temperature up to 400°F and cook for 5–7 minutes. Mini pizza rolls usually need 1–2 minutes less, while toaster-oven style air fryers may take an extra minute to cook.

How do I keep pizza rolls from exploding in the air fryer?

Pizza rolls sometimes burst because steam builds up inside as they cook. The best trick is to pull them as soon as you see the first bit of filling start to ooze out. Also, avoid overcooking, and give the basket a shake halfway through instead of flipping multiple times.

Can I stack pizza rolls in the air fryer?

For the crispiest results, keep them in a single layer. Light stacking is okay in larger baskets if you’re cooking a bigger batch, but they won’t get quite as evenly browned. If you do stack, add a minute or two of extra cook time and shake the basket well at the halfway point.

Do I need to preheat the air fryer?

No, I didn’t preheat when testing. In most cases, basket-style air fryers (like Cosori or Ninja) don’t require preheating for pizza rolls. If you’re using a toaster-oven style air fryer, preheating for a couple of minutes can help them cook more evenly.

What’s the best way to reheat pizza rolls in the air fryer?

Reheat leftovers at 350°F for 2–3 minutes. They’ll crisp back up without drying out. Just keep an eye on them so they don’t split open.

Equipment

  • Air Fryer

Ingredients

  • 1 Bag Pizza Rolls

Instructions

  • Place desired amount of pizza rolls in the air fryer basket. Be sure to have them scattered and not stacked. I was able to cook about two dozen per batch.
  • Cook the pizza rolls at 380°F for eight minutes, shaking the basket halfway through the cooking time.
  • Let cool for a few minutes. Serve hot.

Notes

  • Load Up Right: Place pizza rolls in a single layer for even crisping. Overcrowding or stacking can cause uneven cooking.
  • Batch Cooking: Depending on your air fryer, you may fit around 25 rolls at a time. Adjust based on basket size.
  • Parchment, Liner, or Spray: Cook directly in the basket for best results. If your basket isn’t nonstick, lightly brush with olive oil. Use perforated parchment liners if desired, but avoid spraying the rolls with cooking spray—it can affect flavor.
