Supplies Needed
You'll need an air fryer for this recipe. If you don't already have one, consider grabbing one of my favorite air fryers, the Cosori. It's the most commonly used air fryer in all of our air fryer recipes.
You will also need a small bundt pan to fit into your air fryer. You can grab this small 6" bundt cake pan from Amazon, and it fits perfectly in the Cosori air fryer.
How to Make a Chocolate Bundt Cake in the Air Fryer
Step 1
Combine the flour, baking powder, and cocoa powder into a mixing bowl and set aside.
Step 2
Add the cream cheese, butter, and sugar to a medium sized mixing bowl. Use a hand mixer to blend the ingredients until they are completely combined and creamy, about 2 minutes.
Step 3
Combine the eggs, and vanilla and to the butter and sugar mixture and blend until mixed well.
Step 4
Add the flour mixture to the butter and sugar mixture and slowly combine. Mix well.
Step 5
Pour the batter into the prepared bundt cake pan.
Step 6
Place the bundt cake pan into the air fryer basket.
Step 7
Cook at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 15-18 minutes. Add additional increments of 1 minute if needed.
Step 8
Remove the basket from the air fryer and allow it to cool for a few minutes.
Step 9
Carefully remove the bundt cake from the air fryer and allow to cool completely.
Step 10
Carefully flip the bundt cake over onto a serving dish. Slice and serve. OPTIONAL: Top with frosting before serving!
NOTE: All air fryers cook differently. I used a Cosori 5.8qt air fryer with this recipe and it cooked perfectly. If you're using a different air fryer, you may need to add or take away a minute or two to make sure your cake isn't overcooked.
Tips
There will be little swirls in the baked batter of the cake from the air circulation. You can easily cut off this area with a knife to allow the cake to lay evenly on a serving tray.
Check the cake after by inserting a toothpick. When the toothpick comes out clean, the cake is fully cooked.
FAQs
Can I add to this chocolate bundt cake?
Yes! You can add different things to this bundt cake and change it up several different ways. Consider adding nuts such as chopped pecans or chopped walnuts, chocolate chips, white chocolate chips, and you can skip the frosting and add a dusting of confectioner's sugar, too. There are tons of different options you can try!
Can I use a box cake mix for this chocolate bundt cake?
Yes! If you don't want to make this cake from scratch, use your favorite boxed cake mix. You will still bake the cake at the same time and temperature. Because we are using a smaller cake pan, you only need to fill the pan ⅔ of the way full. That means you might not use the entire mixture.
If you have leftover cake mix and you don't want it to go to waste, grab some silicone muffin cups and make cupcakes in the air fryer with the leftover cake batter.
This is such a fun and easy dessert, and it's perfect to make for a party, an after-dinner dessert, or as one of your air fryer holiday desserts.

What’s the chocolate glaze?
No mention in the ingredients

You can use your favorite chocolate glaze. I like to use cocoa powder, powdered sugar, and milk to make mine. But you can also heat up a can of chocolate frosting in the microwave for a minute if you're needing something fast! Hope that helps.

This recipe sounds great but is it the right one for my 6 cup Bundt pan?
Jen West
This is a small bundt pan - I am not sure of the cup size, but it fits inside of the 5.8qt air fryer basket, so I am guessing it is a 6" or 7" bundt pan. If your bundt pan is larger, you may need to lower the temperature a bit and add additional cook time so that it cooks fully. Hope that helps!

Hello. Can I substitute flour with a oat flour, and sugar with bananas?
Jen West
I have never tried that before, so I can't tell you it's going to cook the same. If you make it, let me know how it works out! Jen 🙂

This was a bit too much for my six inch Bundt; it over-rose and was starting to scorch a bit on the top from being too close to the element. So I took the top layer off (going to become the bottom anyway, right?) Next time I will simply make a cupcake in a large custard cup with the excess. The cake is moist and choclate-y; and I used a ganache to glaze it, as well. Thank-you!
Jen West
Oh yay! I am glad you were able to work that out and love the cake 🙂
