I love a quick snack and these frozen taquitos in the air fryer are one of my kid’s favorite snacks and an easy appetizer. It’s also a perfect pick for Taco Tuesday if you’re craving Mexican food.

Another favorite meal to make is with these frozen mini tacos. Just like these taquitos, add your favorite toppings and serve!

There are several options to choose from. You can choose from corn tortillas, flour tortillas, and fillings such as beef and cheese or chicken and cheese.

Some of my favorite air fryer recipes are those you can grab from the freezer section of the grocery store and cook fast in the air fryer. My family always loves to make quick work out of frozen items, like these air fryer tater tots!

You only need to have a few ingredients on hand, and those depend on how much you want to dress up your taquitos once they’ve been cooked.

Ingredients:

Frozen Taquitos (I like the José Olé brand!)

Optional ingredients to dress such as shredded lettuce, sour cream, salsa, and shredded cheese.

Box of frozen Jose Ole taquitos and an air fryer basket on a white table.

  1. Preheat the Air Fryer to 380 degrees Fahrenheit. Prepare the air fryer basket with nonstick cooking spray if needed.

FAQs

What toppings can I add to this air fryer taquitos recipe?

My kiddos love to eat the taquitos as is, but I love to pile on the toppings. Consider adding toppings such as shredded lettuce, green chilies, salsa verde, sour cream, shredded Mexican blend cheddar cheese, sliced jalapenos, and more.

How do I make taquitos from scratch?

If you would rather make these homemade taquitos from scratch, you’ll want to prep a few things ahead of time. For beef taquitos, brown lean ground beef and add taco seasoning. Place the seasoned meat into the center of each tortilla and carefully wrap until they are fully closed. Place into the air fryer basket seam side down. Air fry the taquitos at 400 degrees Fahrenheit for about 4-5 minutes or until golden brown.

You can also opt for chicken taquitos. You can shred freshly cooked chicken breasts or even use rotisserie chicken. Add a little cream cheese and green chilies to the mixture and then carefully scoop the cheesy chicken filling into the center of the prepared tortillas. Place into the air fryer basket seam side down. Air Fry at 400 degrees Fahrenheit for 4-5 minutes or until fully cooked and golden brown.

What can I serve with Air Fryer Taquitos?

If you’re making a meal out of this dish, consider serving air fryer flautas or taquitos with sides such as refried beans, black beans, and Spanish rice.

There are a ton of different taquito brands to choose from. I think the best frozen taquitos are the ones I am craving that day! I honestly love chicken and beef equally, so I am always up for either one.

Air Fry taquitos are a simple and easy meal that the whole family will enjoy. The quick cook time will always leave you with a delicious inside and a crispy texture on the outside.

We like to put toppings on too but occasionally add ranch dressing to dip them in
