I have been making recipes with Weight Watchers two ingredient dough for over a year now. Even when I’m not on a Weight Watchers plan, this simple dough can be used for several delicious recipes. And this dough just makes the best homemade bagels.

I love that I can make them just like my favorite traditional bagels, with my favorite toppings. I add toppings such as , Everything but the Bagel Seasoning, sesame seeds, and poppy seeds. For a completely different style bagel, you can add cheddar cheese, or make pizza bagels.

The prep time for making these bagels can be shortened by making the dough in advance, and keeping it wrapped and stored for up to two days.

What you need to make Two Ingredient Bagels in the Air Fryer

I make these bagels in my Cosori 5.8 quart air fryer. The entire batch fits perfectly in the air fryer basket.

To make this bagel dough, all you need is:

  • 1 cup Self Rising Flour
  • 1 cup Non-Fat Greek Yogurt
  • Egg, for wash

Bagel Toppings are optional, but I made mine with Everything but the Bagel Seasoning and they were delish! The bagel variety possibilities are endless!

How to Make Air Fryer Bagels

To make this bagel recipe, in a mixing bowl,  combine one cup of self rising-flour and yogurt into a medium bowl. Stir them together with a rubber spatula or wooden spoon until it begins to thicken and forms a ball of dough.

Dough formed into a circle and cut into 6 pieces on a cutting board, and then rolled and shaped into a circle bagel.

Place the dough onto a well floured surface and cut into 4 or 6 even pieces of dough. I use a little extra flour on the table so the dough doesn’t stick.  Turn the dough into bagels, by rolling each wedge into a small rope, about 6-8 inches in length. Connect the ends of each piece, into a bagel shape circle.

Whisk the egg in a small bowl, and then using a pastry brush,  brush bagels with the egg wash. Sprinkle any toppings onto the bagels before you cook them. Next, place the bagels into the air fryer basket.

Besides a thermometer, one of my highest recommended products for air fryers is air fryer parchment sheets. They make for an easier clean up. If you don’t use liners, use an air fryer safe cooking spray, to prevent sticking.

Air fry the bagels at 350 degrees Fahrenheit and cook for about 10 minutes. The bagels will begin to turn golden brown when they are done. Cooking times may vary.

If you don’t have self rising flour in your pantry, you can make your own.  For one cup of self rising flour, combine one cup of flour, 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder, and 1/4 teaspoon of kosher salt. Sift the ingredients together.

FAQ’s:

Can I double the 2 Ingredient Bagel Recipe?

You can easily double the recipe because it is so easy to make! This recipe makes 4 or 6 bagels, depending on how big you cut the pieces. If you just want to make one or two bagels, you can half the recipe too.

Can I make 2 Ingredient Bagels in the Oven?

Of course! You can bake them at 375 degrees for 20-25 minutes. Because the cooking time is so much longer in the oven, making them in the air fryer is much easier.

How should I store the bagels?

These Air Fryer Bagels taste the best when they are fresh. Store them in an airtight container and chill them up to two or three days. Freeze for up to 3 months.

Can I top these bagels with cream cheese?

To keep the Weight Watcher’s points low, you can use a low fat cream cheese as a topping. You can also use these delicious bagels to make an awesome bagel sandwich.

What’s the difference between self rising flour and regular flour?

Self rising flour is just plain flour that already has the baking powder and a pinch of salt combined.

Do you think I can add stuff to the batter? Like maybe blueberries or cinnamon and raisins?

    1. Rebecca says:

Absolutely! I think about 1/4 cup of berries or raisins should be more than enough. And a teaspoon of cinnamon would add even more flavor!

  2. Kris says:

Made these tonight! Omg are they delish!

    1. Rebecca says:

Thank you! I am so glad you liked them!

  3. taylor says:

Was curious if it has to be greek yogurt or would regular plain nonfat work?

    1. Rebecca says:

The Greek yogurt thickens the dough. I think the plain yogurt just wouldn’t be strong enough to hold a dough shape.

I made these tonight ant theyTurned out excellent.
I love bagels but store bought leaves me with a
Bloated feeling. These where light inside and tasted
Great. They only took about 5 minutes of prep and the ten minutes bake was perfect. I added some copped green onions
And shredded cheese which set into the egg wash and brown
Super. Probably won’t buy @nother bagel. Thanks. U

    1. Rebecca says:

So glad you liked them! Thank you! They are one of our favorites, especially when you add egg and cheese. I will have to dry the green onions too. YUM!

  6. Brenda says:

I don’t have an air fryer , would convection oven work ?

    1. Rebecca says:

A convection oven could also make this recipe. The first time you make it, just keep an eye on them so you can adjust time/temperature as needed. Thanks!

  7. Suan says:

Can these be frozen and reheated in micro wave?

    1. Jen West says:

Absolutely! You can freeze these and then reheat them in the microwave. I would make sure to wrap them in a paper towel while reheating them to keep the moisture and from keeping them from becoming hard from the microwave.

      1. Nikki Potz says:

Thank you, love these. So easy!
How do you store and how long do they stay fresh?

        1. Rebecca says:

Hi Nikki. If you keep them stored in a sealed container, they should be good for 3-5 days.

  8. KathyDugwyler says:

Would whole wheat flour work in this recipe?

    1. Rebecca says:

As long as it’s self rising flour, it should work the same. If you don’t have self rising wheat flour in your pantry, you can make your own following the directions in the post. Hope that helps!

  9. Teresa says:

Can you make these using almond or coconut flour?

    1. Jen West says:

Yes! You can use either of those.

    Baked these this morning.
While not exactly as my bagel shop does them, we thought they are pretty good. Toast after slicing, smear with cream cheese and enjoy a snack. My wife wants to make a sandwich with one.
Quick, simple and a great way to get a bagel, without leaving the house.
    A winner, for us. :O)

    1. Rebecca says:

So glad you liked them! Thank you for letting us know. They are a perfect sandwich too. Enjoy!

    2. Payal says:

Can we make it without the egg wash

      1. Jen West says:

Yes, you can do brush butter on the tops after they’ve cooked. 🙂
