How Does the Air Fryer Work?

Cooking with Air Fryers has made it easier to eat healthier without submerging your foods in oil.

Air Fryers cook foods by using a heating element and a fan, and that circulating of heat and hot air is what helps cook the food and crisp it.

Air Fryers can cook with heat as high as 400° Fahrenheit/200° Celcius. Some air fryers may even cook to higher temps.

That makes things easy when you’re cooking for a crowd and need something fast and easy.

To me, the best appetizers are the ones that take very little effort and are done in record time.

These pigs in a blanket fit both of those qualifications!

You only need two ingredients to make this blanket recipe and then you’re on your way!

We definitely classify this as a beginner recipe. If you’re looking for more easy recipes like this, check out this post where we share over 100+ Easy Air Fryer Beginner Recipes.

Ingredients:

  • Little Smokies

To make for a quick clean-up, I will use my favorite parchment paper sheets that fit my Cosori 5.8 quart Air Fryer.

How to Make Pigs in a Blanket in the Air Fryer

Step 1
Preheat the air fryer to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Prepare the air fryer basket with nonstick cooking spray, or once the air fryer has been preheated, add parchment paper.

Step 2
Take a pizza cutter and slice each crescent dough sheet into thirds.

Crescent roll dough cut into thirds with cocktail sausages ready to be rolled and air fried.

Step 3
Take the cut crescent dough and wrap the dough around the sausage.

Step 4
Place the crescent dogs into the prepared air fryer basket in a single layer and make sure to allow an inch or two between each crescent sausage. You may need to cook in batches if needed.

Step 5
Air fry on 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 3-4 minutes, flip, and then air fry for an additional 3-4 minutes, or until the crescents are golden brown.
