How to Make Flank Steak in the Air Fryer:
- Place steak in a shallow cooking dish once removed from the refrigerator to reach room temperature, for about 20-30 minutes before cooking. This helps the meat cook more evenly and ensures a tender steak.
- Next make the rub for flank steak in medium mixing bowl. Combine the salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika.
- Use paper towels to pat the steak dry.
- Cover the steaks with saran wrap or place them inside an unsealed storage bag.
- Use a meat tenderizer and gently pound the steak to break down the connective tissues and make the meat tender.
- Gently rub the seasoning mix on both sides of the steak.
- Spray the basket with oil; this will help crisp up the top and bottom of the steak.
- Place the steak in the prepared air fryer basket and cook at 350 degrees F for 8 minutes, flipping the steak halfway through the cooking process.
- Check the internal temperature of the steak with a meat thermometer.
- Once the steak has reached 130 degrees F, (which brings the steak to a medium doneness) remove it from the basket or add 2-3 minutes cook time for a more well-done steak.
- Place the cooked steak on a cutting board, cover it with foil, and allow flank steak rest time for at least 5 minutes so juices can redistribute, and steak remains juicy.
- Slice flank steak against the grain with a sharp knife for maximum tenderness.
- Move juicy flank steak to platter and serve.

Substitutions: Skirt steak instead of flank steak will work because they are similar cuts of beef.
