Variations
Add toppings - Let's be real and talk about the fact that toppings can make everything better. Adding a bit of cinnamon sugar mixture on top is the perfect sweet addition. You can also drizzle caramel sauce, sprinkle brown sugar, or top with some fresh fruit.
Change the fruit filling - I'm a fan of fruit pies, and this recipe makes it easy to change things up. If you want to give the cherry filling a break, try and make it again using blueberry pie filling, apple pie filling, or even fresh apples in this decadent dessert.
How to Serve
These cherry hand pies are crispy perfection. I also call them dessert tacos, in case you need another super fun name! All you need is a dessert plate for this sweet treat, and you just place and eat. You can add a little bit of sugar glaze on top, too!
How to Store
If you have leftover pies, you can save them for later. Just let the fruit pie cool down all the way, and then store any leftovers in an airtight container. Keep them in the fridge, and then reheat them in the air fryer or microwave when you're ready to eat.
FAQS
What can I use instead of a flour tortilla?
You need something soft to use for the bottom and top crust. If you have a puff pastry, that could work, but my favorite really is a flour tortilla. you can also use homemade dough, but you need to be sure that you cook it all the way through so that it's not raw!
Can I use fresh strawberries as a filling in this recipe?
This is one of those air fryer recipes that are easy to alter. If you want to use fresh fruit - go for it! I would also add a little bit of lemon juice and some sugar mixed in so that it adds to the sweet flavoring.
When should I serve these cherry mini pies?
I think that these would be perfect for Valentine's Day, a weekend treat, or a fun idea for the dessert table! They're much easier to make than homemade cherry pie, and they're fun to eat as well!

Out of curiosity, if 1 can makes only 6, why do you need 12 tortillas?
Hi Lucy, I could only fit 6 in my air fryer at a time, but I made 12 all together. There is plenty of pie filling and I didn't want to waste it so I just made 2 batches. Hope that helps!
