Full disclosure – I love eating food off a stick. So of course, I’ve tried making the classic Air Fryer Kabobs featuring steak and even some Air Fryer vegetable Kabobs for all the vegetarians out there, and both of these recipes received SO much love.
This time, I had some chicken breast at hand, and I decided to put it to use and make some low-fat, low-calorie chicken Kabobs for dinner. And I’m so glad I did! Everyone in my family just devoured these!

Why You’ll Love This Recipe
- It’s a super healthy and delicious meal. There’s chicken, veggies and it’s all air fried- which means little to no oil!
- Just like my Air Fryer chicken bites, these can be the perfect bite-sized food to serve at a get-together.
- It’s customizable! You can play around with the seasonings and spices and create your own version of Kabobs.

Recipe Ingredients

- Chicken breasts: I used boneless, skinless chicken breasts here, cut up into bite-sized chunks.
- Veggies: A classic mix of zucchini, red and yellow bell peppers and some red onion. Dice them into cubes, roughly the same size as the chicken.
- Homemade taco seasoning: My favorite seasoning of all time. I like to switch things up and use my poultry seasoning mix whenever I have it at hand.
- Garnishes: Some lemon slices and chopped cilantro or parsley to garnish!
See recipe card for quantities.
Variations
- Experiment with different seasonings and rubs to bring different flavors to the chicken kabobs. I love adding a bit of cayenne for a spicy kick, or some freshly grated lemon zest for that citrusy zing.
- Don’t just stick to the veggies I used- you can also try using cherry tomatoes, mushrooms, yellow peppers and broccoli or other fresh veggies that you have at hand.
- To get that nice bit of browning on the chicken and veggies, you can also drizzle some olive oil or melted butter over them. I like to use some of my homemade Cowboy butter when I have it at hand.
How to Make Air Fryer Chicken Kabobs

- In a medium bowl, combine the chicken and taco seasoning and mix well until all the chicken is coated.

- Skewer the diced veggies and chicken cubes as desired. Then, transfer them to your Air Fryer basket in a single layer.

- Air fryer at 350 F for 15-18 minutes, flipping the skewers halfway through the cooking time.

- Check if the chicken has cooked. Serve immediately.
Serving Ideas & Suggestions
Enjoy these Air Fryer chicken Kabobs on their own, or team them up with some steamed rice or my easy Air Fryer fried rice. When I’m making this as a side, I like to pair them with a dipping sauce for some extra deliciousness.
Another excellent idea is to serve them with some flatbread, a simple salad and a nice sauce- kind of like the Greek Gyros. If you have some leftovers, you can remove them from the skewers and use them to build a rice bowl meal.
Recipe Tips & Tricks
- For extra flavor, you can marinate the chicken overnight in the seasonings of your choice, and then use them for the recipe. I like to sprinkle some of the seasoning over my diced veggies too!
- If you want the chicken bites to be really juicy and tender, consider using chicken thighs instead of breast, and adjust the cooking time accordingly.
- Make sure you soak the wooden skewers in some water for 10-20 minutes before you use them for the recipe. This will help keep them from darkening or burning in the Air Fryer. I realized this when I made my Air Fryer shrimp skewers.
- If you want the chicken and veggies to have a bit more moisture and shine, you can baste them with a hot sauce of your choice midway during the cooking time. If you’re not too keen on the spice, just a bit of ketchup can work wonderfully as well! I did this when I made my Air Fryer BBQ chicken thighs and they turned out fantastic.

Recipe FAQs
Allow the chicken kabobs to cool down completely, then transfer them to an airtight container and refrigerate. You can store these for up to 3 days.
I love using wooden skewers, simply because they’re effortless and inexpensive. If you have metal skewers that fit into your Air Fryer basket, feel free to use them. Just be careful while removing them, as they can be quite hot!
Overcooking is one of the main reasons why your chicken could have turned out dry. Make sure you check the chicken at the 15 minute mark to see if it is done.
Yes, you can! Simply bake them for 10-12 minutes, or grill them on your stove for about 6-7 minutes until they’re slightly golden on the outside, and tender and soft on the inside.

What if kabobb is already made and frozen
Hi Norma. If using frozen kabobs, try adding 3-5 minutes extra air frying time.
