Ingredients:

  • Texas toast (or sourdough bread) – You can also use traditional sandwich bread if you’d like.
  • Tuna – Canned albacore tuna is my favorite.
  • Mayonnaise – Light mayonnaise is an option to use, too.
  • Boiled egg  – Perfect way to add some protein and flavor with little worry.
  • Tomato – Tomato slices are always a great idea.
  • Butter – Needed to help toast up the bread slices.
  • Cheese – Monterrey jack is my favorite, but you can use any cheese slices or shredded cheese you’d like.
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Variations

Change the cheese – Cheddar cheese or Pepper Jack would be a great option for open-faced sandwiches!

Use different slices of bread – Whole grain bread is a great option and pairs well with a can of tuna and other easy ingredients.

Add other tasty ingredients – Put a little bit of dill pickle relish in the mixing bowl! You can also mix in some green onions to add a kick of flavor to this easy air fryer tuna melt.

Add some heat – If you want to add spice, go for it! Sprinkle a little bit of cayenne powder on the top of the bread, and your mouth will be on fire!

How to Serve

The best part about this easy tuna melt recipe is that it’s one of those air fryer recipes ready to serve in 4-5 minutes. Cook and plate!

How to Store

The correct way to eat this air fryer tuna melt recipe is to cook it in the air fryer and eat it. I’m not a fan of storing and reheating as it takes away the crispy crunch of those golden brown edges!
