Tips for Making the Best Garlic Knots

  • Avoid Overcrowding: Place the knots in a single layer in the air fryer basket to ensure even cooking.
  • Monitor Cooking Time: Keep an eye on the knots during the last few minutes to prevent over-browning.
  • Serve Immediately: Enjoy the garlic knots fresh from the air fryer for the best texture and flavor.

Air Fryer Garlic Knots FAQs

Can I use different types of dough?

If you can’t find crescent rolls, homemade pizza dough or puff pastry sheets, are a great substitute to make these garlic knots.

How should I store leftover garlic knots?

Allow the garlic knots to cool completely, then store them in an airtight container or resealable storage bag in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. For longer storage, wrap them in parchment paper or plastic wrap, place in an airtight container or freezer bag, and freeze for up to 3 months.

Can I reheat garlic knots in the air fryer?

Absolutely! Reheat the garlic knots in the air fryer at 350 degrees F (175°C) for 2-3 minutes until warmed through. If you reheat them in the microwave just keep in mind they may not be as crispy. So I highly recommend reheating in the air fryer.

Equipment

  • 1 Air Fryer

Ingredients

  • 1 can store-bought pizza dough, 13.8 ounces or two cans of thin crust pizza 8 ounces each
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/4 cup parmesan cheese, grated
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon dried parsley flakes
  • 1 teaspoon Italian Seasoning

Instructions

  • Open the can of premade pizza dough and on a lightly floured surface, roll it out into a rectangle.
  • With a pizza cutter or kitchen knife cut the dough into twelve 1-inch strips, and then fold each strip in half. Tie each piece into dough knots, making 12 knots.
  • Place the dough balls into the air fryer basket in a single layer, lined with parchment paper, a silicone baking mat or lightly sprayed with olive oil spray.
  • Air fry at 350 degrees F for 8-10 minutes, until they are golden brown.
  • While knots are in a small mixing bowl, stir together the melted butter, parmesan cheese, garlic, parsley flakes, and Italian seasoning.
  • When knots are golden brown, use a pastry brush and generously brush garlic butter on each piece with butter and seasonings and top with grated parmesan cheese.

Notes

Make these in batches without overcrowding the basket. To get a deeper brown color cook for 1 additional minute.
If using regular crust dough, knots will be just a tad bit thicker and may need 1-2 additional minutes of air frying time.
For smaller bites, just cut the dough in half, and you will have 24 garlic knots.
Optional Favorite Dipping Sauce: Our favorite sauce for dipping is marinara. But you can use other sauces, like homemade marinara sauce, alfredo sauce, pesto sauce, pizza sauce or Greek yogurt with roasted garlic.
