Air fryer onion rings are so easy to make. They have all the flavor of fried onion rings, just without the added grease. This will be your new favorite air fryer snack!
– 1 large yellow onion – 1 ¼ cup all purpose flour divided – 1 tsp baking powder – 1 tsp salt – 1 large egg – 1 cup milk – 1 cup bread crumbs
The first thing you need to do is slice the onion into ¼ inch strips. Remove the center of the onion and then separate the slices into individual rings.Next, you will place the onion slices into a large bowl or Ziploc bag. Add ¼ cup of flour and toss or shake the slices, coating each piece.
Then, in a medium bowl, whisk together the egg, milk, baking powder, and the remaining one cup of flour. Add the bread crumbs and salt into a second bowl. Dip each coated piece into the egg mixture, then dip into bread crumbs, like Progresso, until coated.
Cook using the Air Fry option, at 380 degrees Fahrenheit for 6-8 minutes, or until the outside coating is crispy.
